Yes, but you were doing or saying something in public that was sufficiently anti-social and attention-grabbing that a third party stranger decided to intervene and have a word with you. And now you have taken to the internet to rip that stranger for being a clueless buttinski.
Yet you oddly won't say how you were behaving or describe what the dispute was about or why you thought a Khmer was lying to you, which leads me to believe that the other person was in the right to speak up and tell you to calm the fuck down.
You shouldn't jump to conclusions that Khmers are dishonest or publicly berate Khmers for no reason or freak out about a Khmer wasting thirty minutes of your time.
Time has no value in Cambodia, you know that, even the tourist knew that.
I appreciate that you want to get to the bottom of the story and know the full facts behind everything. It is just simply not that interesting of a story, and I didn't feel the need to explain it and bore people. It brought up another topic though, which I thought some people might have opinions on, or experienced themselves, and I've now heard a few amusing stories because of that.
I was obviously joking about the Angkor Wat comment and the pineapple comment. What happened was I was going out to the islands, and the speed ferry has changed their stops. They pulled into one pier, and I tried to get off knowing that my resort was close. They insisted that I had to get off on the next pier. I relented, knowing it was further away, but they told me the next pier was "that one," pointing to the one that they used to drop people at. I didn't know when this change happened, and I didn't know if it was an actual change or a one-off, and I thought that maybe my resort would be waiting at the next pier to pick me up because of that. Instead, they brought us to the completely far end of the bay, to the very last pier, and 1.5 km from my resort. I asked why did he not let me get off at the first stop, and insist that I go 1.5 km away? He then told me it was because my resort was "just right here" and to get off and call the resort if I wanted to. Of course, there's no service. I was frustrated being brought 1.5 km away, and even more so by the guy incorrectly insisting that I was clueless and that he was correct to drop me there. A tourist stepped in to tell me that obviously the Khmer guy knows better than me, and how I'm on vacation so shouldn't get stressed over it. I had entered into an argument with the Khmer guy, and I am self aware enough to know that it was probably not the best way to handle the situation, and I could handle it better in the future. I wasn't being "sufficiently anti-social and attention-grabbing," I was pitted in an argument I knew I couldn't win, but was frustrated by the insistence of this guy when he couldn't have been more wrong. The backpacker, who couldn't know the truth, was simply annoying when he jumped in.
