Call it a late night walk home from the bar, an early morning jog, or just insomnia, but I just found myself out and about in the city at 2:30 AM. I strolled through Wat Botom Park, and was surprised to see about 200 people out and about, just chilling. They looked mostly around 20, and were in groups of 2-8 people, taking up the small bits of grass picnic style. It was pretty mixed gender, and everyone seemed pretty chill with a few beers and some individual music.
Is this common in all park areas (not that there are a lot)? I wonder if the Koh Pich riverwalk is similarly busy. It seemed like this could be a place to flirt and hang out for these kids. But 2:30 on a Monday night, anywhere in the world (other than Spain, of course), was a bit surprisingly to see, and certainly seems like a newer activity than just a few years before.
