If you're prepared to walk that far and back in order to, let's say, get a decent cup of coffee in a nice Riverside cafe then more power to you. However, I doubt I would be.
I can't think of any places on Riverside that has good coffee. Murray's is wishing walking distance of Russian Market which has coffee options, and a dollar on a moto from BKK1. There are also numerous good places for coffee in the streets on and off Mao Tse Tung Boulevard. The closest Brown, for example, is easily walkable.
