Come to think of it, I have covered the settling of Botany Bay and the origin of the Australian Navy, and the role of 'our boys' in the post-WW2 Malay insurgency. I'm afraid I'm rather subversive and not at all complementary about the old rogues. Then again, my ancestors were Scottish and driven off their lands to Canada.
I'm not biased though; I'm anti-British, anti-American, anti-French, anti-Thai, and anti-Chinese in the first half-hour of my classes. Then I lay into the Easter Islanders (What have they ever done for us?) before reminding everyone that Cambodia's golden age was a slave-based/conscripted labour economy.
