I'm curious to know my options regarding teaching positions in Phnom Penh. Are there any higher paying jobs than the ones at ACE? I have a Master of TESOL, a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary teaching, a double honours degree in Spanish Language/Cultural Studies, and a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing, along with seven years experience (predominantly in language schools).
I've been to Cambodia twice, so "don't come to Cambodia, you can make more in Vietnam" posts aren't really necessary. It's the wild-west nature of the place that attracts me. In 2011, I worked as a teacher in Colombia, so I understand the ins and outs of dealing with management in a developing country. I also have some experience teaching at postgraduate level, having taught a semester as a maternity-leave replacement in the Diploma of Education programme at RMIT in Melbourne.
I think I remember reading that Royal University of Phnom Penh has some well-paid positions, but it's unclear whether I'd be qualified to teach there. And I'm not really a fan of teaching children, unless the ones at Northbridge aren't the entitled little shits I imagine them to be.
As a side note, does anyone teach online from Phnom Penh? Is internet connectivity stable and reliable enough these days? Some of the newer positions (China-based companies) have some decent $20-$25+/hr pay rates.
Thanks in advance.
