Quite interesting. Didn't realise there had been communist infiltration in the NW at that time. The US certainly weren't too concerned or they would have carpet bombed the area.
The point made about the binding influence Buddhism has on the population still applies today, and still not so much in the neighbouring countries..
The Bangkok newspaper editor was a delight to listen to, in fact I replayed him 3-4 times.
