If there is one life saving tip for riding any motorbike in any country, it has to be to have adequate distance between yourself & the vehicle in front. The right distance gives you reaction time + braking distance to avoid accidents, but also invariably much better visibility of potential causes of accidents either in the road, or alongside it (pedestrians with no choice but to use the road as there is no pavement, et-jai + cart walking at 2mph, kids playing, dogs, potholes, roadworks, the dickhead going the wrong way down a one way street, etc.)
Riding a heavier cruiser bike here it is invariably annoying to have my "safe zone" in front filled by some twat on a Chaly with no concept that the car in front may slam on its brakes leading both them to crash into the back of it, but also possibly me as they've destroyed my safety zone also - but only in the second or two it takes for me to back off the throttle and readjust my safe zone. There's no podium for the fastest bike on the street, only a coffin.
