Thanks for the advice and info. Apparently the Redmi 4, approx 150$ in Cambodia, is a good phone to put a new front end on. You install something called Linage on it along with TWRP boot loader ( along with Superuser apk and su and the flasher for the recovery ROM). My free phone, Huawei T 3 7 running Nougat doesn't seem to be rootable or support Linage. Unless anyone can point me in the right direction?
Linage
Things I have found out from others if your phone supports it are; it uses much less HD space, runs
programs that look remarkably like Linux. I haven't used Linux for years, so maybe they are the same? , Apart from Open VPN, VLC and a couple of others that are the same on all platforms There are map, phone, messaging, video, Youtube, Firefox etcetc apps that replace the Google stuff etc, and you get a fully functioning smart phone, at least on the Redmi 4.
BTW, TWRP and Linage are free.
I like the idea of the ram doubler too.
I would definitely give Superuser apk and su a go if I could root my phone? Can't find anything worth while on it on the XDA site.
