Re: Sunrise Tacos in BKK1
Nah, New Mexico or El Paso. Autentico con salsa. Authentic with first world quality. New Mexico-style Mexican food is amazingly good, and in a class by itself. The subtleties of the different varieties of chilis grown there can really make for some good food. If you like the Mexican Food in San Die...

Re: Where to get micro SD cards?
SanDisk is the #1 most counterfeited SD card. Cheap copies last a very short time.

Re: RIP Hugo Chavez
Do you notice a pattern with all those vilified by the Western media? They've all stuck a finger up to the Western powers that rule this world. You can decapitate people in football stadiums, be an absolute dictator, ban women from driving and still get photo-ops with US presidents as long as you a...

Ditto.Flashman wrote:I miss decent hardware shops.
In fact, the lack of hardware/tools/machines, either in shops, or by graft-free delivery is one of the issues that ultimately made me decide against moving there.

I don't know, but leaving a 29% inflation rate doesn't seem to me to indicate that he did much for his country's economy - among other things.starkmonster wrote:Wrong again: http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SI. ... play=graphSateev wrote:and leave the place worse-off than before he came (to power).

Re: RIP Hugo Chavez
Chaves cared as much about the poor as Mao did. Nuff said. 'zackly. Wouldn't be the first, nor last, tinpot to use and ride populism, and the cult of personality to use and abuse power. Kind of a prototype for Thaksin in Thailand: placate the poor uneducated masses, bluster about interference from ...

Re: Windows Update KB2670838 Kills Your PC
Problem appears to affect laptops with integrated (shared memory) graphics, only. Installed on my i7 tower, with NVIDIA GTX450 graphics board, no issues at all. Firefox works fine, including with hardware acceleration enabled. Simple enough to uninstall, however, and Microsoft acknowledges the probl...

Re: Selling a domain name... quick answer appreciated
I didn't intend to suggest a price, only to give an example, which is quite dated. I probably could have got a bit more, but, at the time, it seemed like a good quick 5 grand for something I wasn't using anyway. I think the OP is really the only one who can set the price, given what he has learned f...

Re: Selling a domain name... quick answer appreciated
A few years ago, I owned a domain name called 2wires.com. I began to get a lot of email on admin@2wires.com that referred to a company called 2wire, who turned out to be a major maker of cable modems in the SF Bay area. I called them and asked to get the head of IT on the line, explaining what had h...

Got mine in January, in Bangkok, also about five days. Painless, except that they gouge on the exchange rate...and accept only local currency.

If you're a nice guy, disconnect the high beam, and use the hi-lo switch as an on-off switch.
If you're an asshole, disconnect the low beam, use the hi-lo switch as an off-on switch, and blind oncoming traffic.
Cheers.

Also, beware the tip of the ThaiVisa iceberg. At least in the past, the two were linked at the top.

Re: Need an engine, where to go?
^^^ My older brother in law offered to pay for the engine replacement (not the moron spoiled annoying ass who took the keys out of my room at night and overheated the car), so I'm hanging onto the car for now. However, we checked two places out and there was nothing for my car in stock. Anything be...
