Re: Raising barang kids here
Ha ha, +1 for that post.. maybe not as diplomatic. but most def. a lot of rude local kids here. My kids know Khmer, but they don't want to speak it in front of me, they just close up like a shell. Lots of good kids here too, and I didn't mean to imply that all kids that don't speak any English are ...

Re: Converting to Linux - Ubuntu 18.04
I do run Linux Desktops for 10+ years. Where initially there were some issues with Flash, browsers, PDF and the office formats, nowadays, zero issues. Ubuntu as a Desktop is to much flashy and immature, including the (reverted to original Gnome Desktop 18.04 and 18.10 version). Better use LinuxMint...

Re: Raising barang kids here
My question is, has anyone raised purely Western children here? I'm not sure what "purely Western" really means, but, I don't think that would even be possible unless the child was deaf, blind, and anosmic. Or possibly extremely autistic. Kind of like how you can drive a nice car here, have a nice ...

Re: Kampot Riverside Restaurant/Bar for Sale
Maybe what you guys are saying is that, in Cambodia, "Landlord agrees to lease the property to tenant for five years" isn't binding on the landlord, he can breach that at any time without consequences. But if it says "Landlord agrees to lease the property for five years unless Landlord becomes dest...

Re: Converting to Linux - Ubuntu 18.04
I've been using Ubuntu 18.04 for a few weeks now and am happy with it. There is only one app that I haven't been able to get working and that is the VPN client for Fortinet. Have any of you that use linux had any luck getting a Fortinet client working? Can't get vpn working on my linux mint either ...

Re: Looking for an eATX case.
What are you hoping to learn setting this up on a LAN? Genuinely curious. Have you considered renting a cheap dedicated server (e.g. OVH - in Singapore for lowest latency, though other locations are cheaper). Throw Proxmox on a $75/mo dedicated server and then you're at least looking at a more reali...

Tiny Kampot Pillows sells it. I guess they would probably put a bottle or few on the bus for you if you can't find it elsewhere.

Re: Home security system
I've found the HikVision cameras to work well. Good image quality, apps, and recording capabilities, good web interface and software. There are a few dealers in PP. Make sure you don't get a grey market one, google it. Of course like most of the camera makers, they may be rife with backdoors, so I w...

Awesome, thanks Miguelito.Miguelito wrote:Yes, B is automobile. Under “special conditions” it should be blank, but if you scan the QR code you’ll see that it says you can drive manual.
Cool about the QR code, I didn't know that. I've confirmed mine does say manual.

License Classes
Hi folks,
Does anyone know the current classification of drivers licenses?
I've just done the exam and road test for manual transmission cars, and got a class "B" - is that car/pickup truck now? I thought I recall my old plastic license having class "B" as > 125cc bike.
Cheers

Bringing 3 laptops, 2 iPads in on international flight
Hi, I don't expect any problems with this... but, I haven't been through the PP airport in years and maybe things have changed. Has anyone experienced / should I expect problems bringing 3 laptops into the country? Some of these are new, but, will all be unboxed and not have any packaging on them: T...
