Cambodia turning into China - yet another Chinese megacity project to destroy Cambodian sovereignty and the environment
It's not just Sihanoukville that is turning into a Chinese city but also a place called "Thmada" located in Pursat province. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/special-reports/1704672/boom-along-the-border Thousands of Chinese will be moved in as laborers. Why aren't they hiring local Cambodians? ...

Re: India and Myanmar entry-exit points opened
Nope, no way a vehicle can enter Myanmar except on a tour. Entering India is more straightforward, but reportedly requires a carnet. You can enter on a permit, need pay for guide and car for him to travel with you.. runs about $1,400 for 5 days BUT 1, 2 or 3 bikes or autos could go an split the cos...

Re: Temporary admission for a car
Are you referring to a Cambodian car? If so, the process is very straightforward, but I think you should consider using only O'Smach or Koh Kong for entry into Thailand as Thai cars going the other way can only easily use these crossings so I can't imagine Thai customs would be lenient enough to al...

Re: Singapore car transit possibly by shipping
Only Malaysian and Thai registered vehicles can enter Singapore without making pre-arrangements. Cambodian cars would need a carnet and you would also need to pre-arrange Singaporean insurance. You can't buy insurance at the border it must be pre-arranged. Malaysia on the other hand does sell insura...

Re: Crossing Border to Thailand at Koh Kong with Car
Pailin should be OK but not many people or cars go through that border. Crossing with a Thai car through Hat Lek/Koh Kong is easy, as is crossing into Thailand with a Cambodian car. In theory, you're not supposed to drive further than the province you entered (meaning Koh Chang would be perfectly fi...

Re: Moving to Cambodia as a pro poker player (visa extention)?
So, I'm planning on moving to cambodia. I play online poker for a living but I recently read the new laws regarding work permits and the visa extention situation. What would be the best solution for me since I plan on staying 1+ years. I read that it's possible to extend the EB visa for 3 months wi...

Re: Vietnam Airways pilot lands on Under Construction runway
Thai Airways has a policy of only hiring Thai nationals for pilots - no foreigners allowed. Yeah, thais have those stupid rules what work foreigner can do there. Not stupid if you ask me - every country should give priority to it's citizens by prioritizing them for jobs over foreigners. Vietnam has...

Trink was a senile fool who claimed to the end HIV didn't caused aids. I had zero respect for the guy. Hacked him too 20 years ago, that was good fun. His daughter was not amused though. What a hoot. actually a lot of scientists/doctors/even government officials dispute the HIV/AIDS link. It just i...

Re: Travelling with 2 passports
"No can do, need to see all your journey from start" Basic logic dictates that he is wrong. If you need to leave a country with the passport that you entered on, and if you need to use the same passport from start to finish of traveling, how could you ever travel with two passports? Although dual c...

Re: Prek Chek/Ha Tien Border Crossing. UK citizen. 15 days no visa?
Oasis Bar Ha Tien, I went to your bar back in 2014. Great place. Ah...that doesn't surprise me. Vietnam hates seeing foreigners drive cars into their country (or within their country it seems, at least customs does the police themselves are OK). I know from personal experience - was denied entry int...

Re: Vietnam Airways pilot lands on Under Construction runway
An American pilot flying for Vietnam Airways? Aren't there enough Vietnamese pilots? Thai Airways has a policy of only hiring Thai nationals for pilots - no foreigners allowed. Interesting that Vietnam Airways hires foreign pilots.
