I mentioned before that I had been going to a dental clinic on St 63.
I had to go back today as I broke a tooth last night while eating a chicken burger - not their fault!
As the tooth had undergone root canal treatment before I was pretty sure that a crown was going to be the outcome, and that was the case.
What really pleased me though was that they could see me straight away, and the price they are charging me was $100 for the ceramic crown. The same price I paid some 12 months ago at the same clinic.
The clinic is called Suor Sdey Dental Clinic and is not far from Ezycom.

Careful of the F'n Thai Dentists, had some not good experiences with those money grubbing thieves.
Hada small cavity and the 'dentist' was trying to drill through into the root, I had to stop the prick. On another tooth he 'cleaned' the cavity and filled it - you can still see the cavity is black and he just put filling in, meaning it'll probably rot through to the root behind the cavity if I don't get his 'fix' fixed soon.
By an orthodontist I had a crown crack in two already and another crown from the same fellow was not fit properly so food particles can go up the back edge of the crown.
Here's some interesting information on root canals to consider while you are at it too:

Mr chou nee is opposite the container port in PP.
My friend from perth just had twenty crowns and two bridges done by wolfgang in toul kork.
He is a german army dentist who came here with UNTAC and stayed. He trained many of the current generation of khmer dentists.
She paid $8,800,in australia it would have cost up to $35,000.
He does a lot of work for australians from the regions.
Other than wolfie i would recommend roomchang.
Forget the thieving thai.

Smile Dental on St 19 - all good, he's an implantologist also, and trains Khmer dentists. very reasonable rates. Many friends have used also.
In Bangkok I've used Bangkok Hospital Dental Hospital a few times, extractions, fillings & crowns, on Petchaburi Road. Also very good, pretty over the top with the 'care'.
Used two diff surgeons there, one older woman who was fine but mis-diagnosed for a future treatment, which I found out when I was was assigned a very gorgeous young dentist, who did a bunch of work, and re-diagnosed the issue which the older one had basically exaggerated, not in the hope of more Moolah, but just not quite up with the more modern methods. All very good though... good luck and go for the youngies !!!

If you abuse all Thais then you'll still be 80% right.
I had crowns made by a Japanese dentist. the crowns and inlays are made by a Japanese technician. all you can get here in phnom penh. the dentist speaks perfect English. reasonable too, if you compare the costs to Australia and you get on top of it Japanese quality.
The clinic is called malis dental clinic based in phnom penh tower.

20 crowns and 2 bridges...god your friend sounds like she had a painful mess for a set of teeth.ken svay wrote: My friend from perth just had twenty crowns and two bridges done by wolfgang in toul kork.

Here in china I live near a small village and Saturday afternoons the street dentists set up shop and practice their "craft". It looks painful and unsanitary but if you are poor there are few alternatives.
I feel lucky I have been able to afford decent dental when needed.
Roomchang is fantastic, the missus just went. Just be aware that crowns differ, at Roomchang the best crowns with no metal are $500, the cheaper ones are $300.
Our young khmer dentist was great, from a poor family in the bush and earned a scholarship. The building is beautifully finished and the lady staff very pretty.
