Psah Thmei - early 1970s?
Litter and clutter free, ordered, neat little garden on the corner, locals driving vespas and small cars rather than fuck-you-get-out-of-my-way SUVs. And most surprising of all - cars stopping to allow pedestrians across the zebra crossing.

Nice picture, I hadn't seen that one before. I'd guess it's earlier, maybe early 1960s.
Here it is in 1960
You can see by 1974 it was starting to look pretty scruffy. From: http://blog.allthedumbthings.com/

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

personally i think it's a fake photo for an ad campaign by the airline, have never seen trees in abundance in any previous snap of the place .
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

That those cars stopped for the pedestrians cannot be verified. A snap taken seconds later might have documented a precursor of today’s SUV-driving maniac leaving the scene with much irritation while some coppery paysan lay writhing on macadam.keeping_it_riel wrote:And most surprising of all - cars stopping to allow pedestrians across the zebra crossing.
Wat's all that green stuff in the forground of the photo?

I agree, such unpatriotic behaviour should never have been allowed.keeping_it_riel wrote: And most surprising of all - cars stopping to allow pedestrians across the zebra crossing.
ירי ילדים והפצצת אזרחים דורש אומץ, כמו גם הטרדה מינית של עובדי ההוראה.

The French guy, Montague, who put together that Cambodia postcards book a couple years ago also threw together a small booklet of 12 postcards for Royal Air Cambodge in the late 90s. I'm guessing that booklet is the source of this one.
