This is a free speech zone where you can discuss and debate everything Cambodia related whether you're a dyed in the wool leftist, a liberal or somewhere to right of Attila the Hun. This is also where you get to read the news the local media suppresses.

I know! I think we could do a BAC measurement to go along with them to explain my tone in almost every case. The Internet can bring out the ass in me sometimes. But then I realize that and try to go back and explain myself. I don't like it when I notice that I've been a total dick, even in situations where other people were also. Oh well.

OK, no one seemed to be interested in my happy slapping suggestion so let's try a different idea.
How about having a MASSIVE placard on a stick made up saying 'DON'T' TRUST THIS MAN' with an arrow pointing downwards. The we stand next to the Flipper and follow him around keeping the arrow on him. It could be a great stunt and get some publicity if we take photos.
Thoughts?

You're joking, right? What is it this time? Seriously, I was completely unaware that tomorrow was supposed to be a public holiday.

This has happened to me in Bali, and in Bangkok as well. damn Pinoys. But to be fair, I do have a spectacular pair of sunglasses which beg to be commented on. I also had a local lass try the same thing on the riverside a couple of years ago. She says " I saw you drinking beer at,,,,, " hoping I would play along and fill in the name of the bar. I told her there are about 50 bars in the city I have drunk beer in. That shut her up

Last year in HCM City, Across the road from the park/play area in district 10, My Regular moto-driver introduced me to four South Korean men who were card sharks. After introductions and beers were ordered (i payed! ) I asked them how they did it, They told me that they were all ex casino workers and they knew all of the tricks of the trade so to speak.
Further to this they told me that caucasians blushed slighty when they had a good hand, And it was this that they could pick up on especially in a "straight" game. So with the next beers ordered and payed for buy them! They gave me an introductional game and showed me how they could keep the same card, say a king or ace active for as many games as possible either to them or the sucker. It was a real eye opener for me. My moto-driver "MR Chau" then warned me not to play any cards with Koreans, Flips, Viets and wide eyes ( caucasians ) Cos EVERYONE who plays cards is either a shark or a fully blown criminal. I wondered if i could start infultrating the seedy underbelly with the game "Guess Who". But decided against it as i am a born loser and serial blusher.

A visiting friend from Japan just got scammed. Gentle coffee to begin with then a friendly card game. When she wanted to leave they demanded 1000 or her passport. She got away with '200'. I've only been here 6 weeks but likewise approached twice on the riverfront. Unbelievable how people are so gullible but the police not arresting when it's so blatant has to be the problem!

I have been following this thread with interest from here in Saigon because it started about the same time that the main group of Flip scammers disappeared from District 1 in Saigon. Then, as the thread began to wane, the same mob popped up again in Saigon. They know I know their game but I couldn't help but emulate the tactics of one PNP poster by approaching then and saying: "Nice shirt! Wanna play some cards?" Fun to watch dark skinned dudes turn white! Have their numbers diminished there?

I would be careful about approaching them saying stuff like "wanna card game" as they are more likely to be "involved" with some local police. Also you may get stabbed/beaten or just plain robbed, These people are career criminals and they dont fuck about.
Just walk off so that both you and them save face.

Are you one of them! I have stopped the Scam on half a dozen occasions, I dont fuck about either, The other day 2 of them hid behind the security Guard in Western Union as i took a girl out of there before she received the money. My local police chief has 26 reports against them. You are the Coward Loz !!! Along with them . Its ok is it to prey on Single Women?

They approached me and told me I had a nice hat. I asked them to speak English, I don't understand Tagalog. They said they were speaking English. LOL, end of conversation.
