I talked with him over the phone around a month ago asking him to join a BBQ party at a mate's house when heard of his condition it sounded quite severe. Already planned on visiting him when I am back in PP at the end of the month.........
He was the first poster on this site to meet me in real life here in Cambodia, me and the wife really enjoyed his company. RIP Henning.

Very sorry to hear this news. I am pretty new on the board so dunno most posters in real life but of course I seen his posts and know some of his stories. When I seen his picture online I recognized him though as he came to our restaurant a couple of times. Condolences to his family and friends, also on behalf of Tom Yum Kung management and staff.

i remember him on the Thorn Tree forum (Lonely Planet), we had several discussions in the past in the cambodian section, he was hellbent defending Cambodia and the Khmers by any criticism but he had a vast knowledge about anything khmer.
i feel so sorry for his death.
may he rest in peace.

Very sad to hear this,Only met him once but consider him a very stand up person, never judgmental and always with a kind word and his info on everything was usually spot on.

"We are turning into a nation of whimpering slaves to Fear—fear of war, fear of poverty, fear of random terrorism, or suddenly getting locked up in a military detention camp on vague charges of being a Terrorist sympathizer." HST
Very sorry to hear this sad news. Henning was a good man.

I didn't know Henning either but he always took time to answer questions and was a very good presence on the forums.
I am sorry for all those who lost a close friend.
