Is there a corkage fee if I have to bring my own BBQ sauce?logos wrote:Well if anyone is interested they still have the $5 friday specials. I tried the ribs last week, acceptable at the price but not as good as under the previous management/cook. No BBQ sauce which was a major turn off. Clueless waitress. Caesar's salad comes in a smaller size as well and all prices slightly up. I wouldn't eat there again unless they get their act together and offer the same quality they used to have.

And I see next door's Monstah Bar is shut. Pity, I liked it in there. Uncomfy bar stools but good venue for the sports. The food was good too if you didn't mind being served by the owner with his severe case of prey cheung and cig hanging out of his mouth.

Agreed, it was one of my go-to places. Drove by today and saw it was closed. I was hoping it was because of the WF, but apparently not. Not really surprising as they stopped serving food and you're not going to make the rent there selling draft beer...

I heard from someone apparently in the know that they are planning to open again soon. (Monstah)

Yes I heard that too which makes it 4 bars I think SEAPs now own/are involved in. Seems odd that realty experts think there's value in bars.dv8inpp wrote:I heard the new owner of Cadillac bought it.

I don't get it. Went in for lunch and instead of being the only person sitting at a bar with 7 stools I was the only person sitting at a bar with 15 stools. Cadillac's problem was not enough customers to justify the high rent, now they've just expanded and taken on a greater rent obligation without doing anything to increase the number of customers.tombraider wrote:seems they are knocking Cadillac and Monstah into one big bar now
They did have a lot of Bayon Pearniks at the bar, and SEAPs ads on the menu. I don't think that will drive more traffic.

I walked by the other day. It looked big, and empty. Any report on the food?gavinmac wrote:I don't get it. I have a feeling they will do ok. Cadillac in it's heyday was often full and needed more seating / tables.

They are using the older Cadillac menu again which seems like a good move.gavinmac wrote:The food was fine. Same as Cadillac.
The replacement menu introduced mid-2017 by the 'transient' owner was very limited and difficult to read, good riddance to that one.

I think that was mostly the original owner's personality, Russell, right?slavedog wrote:I have a feeling they will do ok. Cadillac in it's heyday was often full and needed more seating / tables.
You gotta have a personality to run a hospitality joint right on the Riverside. And you have to work almost everyday at it.
You'll profit, but you better like your job and always be likable in today's Internet age!
