Well, when we say never, we mean she would at least have to pay a premium and also sell her story excusivly to 440 warts and all.chlim01 wrote:It'll be interesting to see how far barang businessmen will put principles ahead of profits.fopro wrote:I'd be surprised if any barang publication let her advertise again.

I hope someone was able to get back to the son with contact details.
It would be nice if something good came of all this.
David can you post again or PM and let us know yes or no if you were able to find her address or a phone number for your grandmum and your sister? I fully appreciate you do not want to chime into the debate.
The link below includes the phone number she was using to advertise for a new locum for June, but the ads seem closed now.

Thanks for the few people who replied and If anyone has her e-mail address would be greatly appreciated.
Also a actually mailing address would be somewhat handy as well.
If anyone here actually knows her please pass along my e-mail address. As it has changed since I last spoke to her.

Since the owner of the Phnom Penh Post has not only written that poor Gloria will reopen ASAP in his personal Gecko column and it has all been an unfortunate mistake, but also told some businesses that if he sees the woman who brought the complaint against Gloria in their establishments he will withdraw his custom/support, I can think of one.I'd be surprised if any barang publication let her advertise again.
Is she actually seeing patients again? Has anyone got any proof she isn't doing what she and the guard told the Daily - ie she is there, her equipment is there, but only Cambodian doctors actually touch the patients.
I think the fact she has reopened like that shows the Ministry of Health is not corrupt. If she thought she could have bought them off, I am sure she would have tried.

As only about two bars advertise in the Phnom Penh Post then I don't think that the woman in question will be stuck for places to drink.Since the owner of the Phnom Penh Post has not only written that poor Gloria will reopen ASAP in his personal Gecko column and it has all been an unfortunate mistake, but also told some businesses that if he sees the woman who brought the complaint against Gloria in their establishments he will withdraw his custom/support, I can think of one.
Twitter: Not my circus, not my monkeys - I sold #K440
and that wouldn't be you would it?the woman who brought the complaint against Gloria
Anyone who knows me knows that I have no sympathy for quacky Gloria. However, the person who brought the complaint has a few skeletons of her own and is barred from a number of places for, lets say, entirely different reasons. Shall we go there? Shall we open that particular can of worms? What do you think newguy?
In answer to the question about criminal penalty for practicing medicine without a license..........In New Mexico, according to the Medical Practices Act at 61-6-20, conviction can bring a sentence of a definite period not to exceed 18 months and (at the discretion of the sentencing court) a fine of $5000. Now, here's the important part of the law..............................Icebear wrote:That's not the point really, question to our American fellows: What would the sentence be in the US for acting as a medical dr for years and only being a nurse ????? 50 years,,,,?fopro wrote:Not to defend Gloria, but...A western-trained nurse is more likely to be better or at least more medically competent than a Cambodian-trained doctor, since a western-trained nurse almost certainly earned her credentials as opposed to a Cambodian-trained doctor who is as likely to have bought his degree as earned it....a foreign nurse is better than any so-called Khmer MD.
EACH OCCURRENCE OF PRACTICING W/O A LICENSE SHALL BE A SEPARATE VIOLATION.

You can try consular assistance phone (Aust) 1300 555 135. Explain your mother has been in legal trouble in Cambodia and that you have been unable to contact her. They may be able to help.
I dont know who she knows since I have had like 4 conversations in like 7 years with her so my knowledge of her circle of friends is somewhat limited.
Secondly me calling overseas is very costly and I dont think my work would be all that thrilled with that.
An e-mail address for her would be handy but I dont think anyone has one.;
