‘As for the victim whom police suspect was murdered...’ should read ‘As for the victim who police suspect was murdered...’
Not a very Spanish sounding surname for the perp, Blundell. What a horrible way to go out for the poor English man. RIP

Give me a Valium, I'm getting the FEAR!
Sounds like it, and the Spanish guy does look a little bit like a junkie (or HIV infected), hollow cheeks and sunken eyes. May explain why the body was left for so long, he was too afraid to report it to authorities, and too wasted to competently dispose of the body...I am surprised that he didn't skip the country, or PP at least.marwood wrote:RIP.

Condolences to the deceased's family.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

On the 11th of August, 2013, at 10:10 pm, police arrested a Spanish man on suspicion of murder after discovering the badly decomposed body of a British man wrapped in a blue-colored tarp (ក្រណាត់កៅស៊ូ - see photo) in Apartment #D3E4 (based on the last 2 digits, possibly on the 4th floor) of a tenement building.
-Police identified the suspect as ‘BLUNDELL PEREZ RICARDO,’ a 40 year Spanish tourist, holding passport BA301960, the occupant of Room #D3E4, House 160, located on Street 63, Village 12, Psar Tmey 3 Commune, Daun Penh District. The victim of the alleged murder was identified as ‘JOHN CONNELL,’ a 43 year old British tourist, holding passport 512159683, who had also been an occupant of the room.
-From the police report:
At about 9:30 pm, on an unspecified day in July 2013, the accused, ‘BLUNDELL PEREZ RICARDO,’ went to the (Golden?) Soriya Mall, located in Psar Tmey 3 Commune, where he met ‘JOHN CONNELL,’ the British man, with whom he struck up a friendship. After chatting and drinking for a while, the Spaniard returned home accompanied by the British man, who roomed with him for 2 nights.
A little while later, on a Saturday in July, the Spaniard and the British man went out on a carouse together that lasted into Sunday morning. After the bender, the British man packed up his things and moved in with the Spaniard. Accompanying him was a friend, a 43 years old American man named ‘ARON,’ who worked as a teacher. That night, that is about 1:00 am Monday morning, the British man was sitting out front on the verandah of their tenement drinking and doing drugs (ប្រើថ្នាំញៀនដោយដាក់លើប្រអប់មួយរួចហិតចូលតាមច្រមុះ inhaling through his nose an unnamed narcotic from his hand) while the Spaniard and the American, who had declined to join him, headed for bed. The next morning the American left. It was not until about 4:00 pm that afternoon that the Spaniard went out onto the verandah to nudge awake the British man still sitting there, but the man did not respond. Carrying him inside, he checked for signs of breathing, but found none. Upon realizing the man was dead, the Spaniard phoned the America named ‘ARON’ and summoned him back. But when the American found that the British man had died, he up and left.
Instead of reporting the British man’s death to police, the Spaniard acted by taking a blue tarp from the top of the building and covering the body with it. 4 days later, however, with the stench of the decaying body intensifying, the suspect wound the blue tarp tightly around the body it in order to seal in the smell.
- But the suspicious stench continued to intensify with each passing day, and the tenement owner was eventually alerted to it, sneaked a peek, saw the body and called police. On the 11th of August, at 3:00 pm, Psar Tmey 3 Administrative Police went down to investigate after receiving a complaint from the tenement owner and arrested the Spaniard. One of the police investigators at the scene estimated the time of death to have occurred 2 weeks ago based on the state of the body’s decomposition, because bone matter could be seen in places where the flesh had completely rotted away. Police believed they were dealing with murder. Nonetheless, they continued in their efforts to conduct a thorough investigation. The suspect was taken to the Daun Penh District police station where he was being temporarily held while the investigation continued.
-A commune office police official involved in the examination of the body stated that in response to their questioning the Spaniard had expressed his inability to account for the British man’s death; stating only that he had covered the body with a blue tarp upon realizing the victim was dead; that he had wound it securely around the body when the stench had become overwhelming; and that, when the decomposing body’s intestinal fluid had begun leaking out, he had got rid of the leakage by scooping it up and flushing it down the toilet. Not knowing where else he could go, the Spaniard had ended up sleeping with the body (ចំណែករូបគេមិនដឹងជាទៅ នៅទីណាទេ ក៏ដេកក្នុងបន្ទប់ជាមួយសពនោះដែរទៅ).

Spaniards are only dagos in the Commonwealth. From Wikipedia's fabulous list of ethnic slurs:RobW wrote:Dago, not spic.
Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any decent slurs for Spaniards in Seppo English.Dago, Dego
(UK and Commonwealth) refers to Italians, Spaniards, or Portuguese, possibly derived from the Spanish name, "Diego," a corruption of the title Hidalgo (member of the Gentry, from Spanish > hijo de algo "son of someone [important]" or the Sardinian language first person pronoun, dego).
2) (US) An Italian or person of Italian descent.
