At the moment they're asking waiting customers to do a customer service survey - a touch-screen board. Answer the questions and don't hold back!!!!

They claimed I withdrew cash from an ATM, which I did not. I asked them to check the records, they said they couldn't. I told them straight, yes you can, don't BS me. They checked, under protest.Notorious9 wrote:Why are they so useless, every branch is a disgrace and the service....well if you got a few hours to wait for service happy fucking days.

Branch on Sihanouk near Lucky.
On another occasion, they came to the university in Toul Kork, we filled out info to open accounts. 6 weeks later, they call me and ask me to go to the old main branch on Sihanouk and fill in the info again, they lost my form. I told them to fuck off.
Cambodia Public Bank/ACLEDA both way better

Maybe they weren't really impressed with your 5000 riel deposit?6 weeks later, they call me and ask me to go to the old main branch on Sihanouk and fill in the info again, they lost my form
Maybe their looking for rich suckers to rip off instead. Always get a big smile when that's the case. How to they smile at you?logos wrote:Maybe they weren't really impressed with your 5000 riel deposit?6 weeks later, they call me and ask me to go to the old main branch on Sihanouk and fill in the info again, they lost my form
I honestly have only good words to say about all banks in Cambodia. they offer me the best value, incredible interest rates and good moral education for my children. True mentors in a desperate age. One more point I have noticed, they would much rather give than receive. Must be something to do with Buddhism.

Banks and altruism is an oxymoron.SCC wrote:... they would much rather give than receive. Must be something to do with Buddhism.
They're banks. They're in business to make money by providing a service, a service which you are perfectly free to use or not, as you see fit. What do people expect?
Jiminy Cricket!! By gosh that may have been the jolly ol case in the UK about 40 or 50 years ago, just before they made cash wages redundant. Since then, if you work legally or go through education, are unemployed or on low wages or just retired and on a pension you have no choice in the matter.scobienz wrote:They're banks. Otherwise people would be burying it like in all the LDC's or, investing it in gold and then burying it

So you're for light regulation of banks? Seem to recall that got us in a big mess a few years ago but I guess times have moved on...scobienz wrote:They're banks. I have no idea how you have come to that conclusion from my post. Feel free to tell me what other views I have that I'm not aware of yet.

Not in my case. My employer has a 'deal' with ANZ and will only pay me either by ANZ cheque or straight into an ANZ account, which I refuse to open since they charge too much if your account dips below $500.scobienz wrote:They're banks. Yesterday afternoon I had to go to both ANZ (to cash my cheque) followed by ACLEDA (to deposit some money). There were at least 4x as many people in ACLEDA, but I got served after 20 minutes, as opposed to the 70 minutes I'd just had to wait in ANZ. In terms of both customer service and changes/fees, ANZ are shit and do not compete with other banks, but the only way I can extricate myself from them is to quit my job, which would be a disproportionate measure to anyone bar a vlad.
