Great sentiment, but the thought of wrapping up my dinner with some of the pictures from the Koh Santepheap ... eww!

I believe horace/KiR or Playboy can deliver the relevant information.

Garage does good fish and chips. Maybe you can get jm to wrap it in one if his old copies of the Los Angeles Free Press.

I don't know how Mama's NY deli (whatever it's called) compares to real English fish and chips, but I enjoy hers. Ordered many times, been happy, but again compared to real English styles ones, I don't know.

Hartlepool? I've been all over the British Isles, and often heard this eating chips out of newspaper thing. However I've never seen anyone eating chips out of a newspaper anywhere, do they mean the white paper or white and brown paper bags they are normally sold for takeaway in? If it means newspaper paper that's not exactly accurate either, it's a completely different type of paper that they use. Maybe they had to use real newspapers back in the war years and 50s because everyone was broke as fuck and their only entertainment was deciphering backwards headlines on their chips?does anyone know where i can get a fish and chip takeout with salt and sauce,im dying to eat some chips on a bit of newspaper with vinegar and hp.
Maybe someone could open a Chip-shop or chipper as we always called them, but they'd have to do a pretty good impression of a chipper from the UK/Ireland or people wouldn't want to know. I think there was a place on the Lakeside that gave it a bash which got good reports, I never tried it myself.
I've never tried her's but I think her place is underrated, I've always enjoyed any food I've had there. She's very sweet and clued-up too, quite a character.I don't know how Mama's NY deli (whatever it's called) compares to real English fish and chips, but I enjoy hers.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
i've never seen a decent and fairly priced Fish & Chips in PP and it's not easy to find good french fries.

Is it possible to get unprinted newsprint sheets in Phnom Penh?
When I was a kid (20-30 years ago) fish and chips came wrapped in newspaper. Usually they had a sheet of plain unprinted sheet on the inside to ensure that the ink didn't smudge. It stopped in my early teens. I guess because of hygiene regulations and so on.
You could still get away with it here though. Most of the nompan pate you buy to take away is wrapped in what looks like old exam paper. Answers in pen included.

Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

The last time I ordered fish and chips in Phnom Penh, I got earful from a bunch of NGO's banging on about the importance of sustainable fishing.
That's all I need, I thought. The fucking cod squad.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

You'll never get 'real' UK style Fish n' Chips here because you can't get the Cod or Haddock ('addick' to Charlton Athletic fans) here. The closest thing to good Fish n' Chips I've had here is the Cavern or Fish n' Co. Never had the Garage FNC, but it deserves a try.
Several years ago, there was a good chippy on Sukhumwit Soi 23 in Bangkok. It was owned by a bloke from Preston who imported all the frying tanks and other paraphernalia. Imho, it was the closest thing to a UK style chippy in S E Asia. Even the fish he used seemed to taste something like Cod or Haddock. He also did scampi, battered burgers, mushy peas, chicken n' mushroom pies, the full works. I think he used Asian Red Snapper Fish.

Don't grow up - it's a trick!
