And now, if it follows what seems to be the usual path, it will disappear back into the ministry for an indefinite period, supposedly waiting on that signature.horace wrote:Signed ,although I did notice that the workbook still needed to be signed by the minister of Labour.

My medical check experience:
1 arrive at place next to CJCC on road to airport. Filled out form in hand, 3 passport photos and copy of passport, not visa.
2 invited to jump the queue because of being foreign . They measure height, weight and chest.
3 take measurements to nearby counter. Staff write measurements down, glue one photo on, and hand it back.
4 stand outside nearby door until called. Enter small, clean air con room. One girl checks blood pressure and asks about general health. Puts a thermometer in my ear. Looks down my throat. Second girl listens to my breathing, front and back.
5 take forms and go to payment counter. 25 bucks. Receive a blue slip to proceed with work permit application.
Total time from entering to joining payment queue: 10 mins.
Quite painless.

I've read some interesting reports about work permits on Facebook in the last few weeks that I'm surprised have not been discussed here.
One person reported that Khmer authorities have announced that foreigners can now get work permits without any back charges being assessed for past years of living and working in the Kingdom without a work permit.
But then someone else said this was a ruse meant to draw out foreigners and when you show up at the office or try to apply for your work permit they hit you with the back charges for past years.
I have no idea which is true.

If it's Facebook I'd take any "facts" with a grain of salt.
Everyone knows it's only real news when it appears on 440, then Khmer Times.

I believe they were processing them without penalty. I recommended they use it as a ruse to lure in unsuspecting TEFLers but they didn't seem interested.

Not sure why vladimir didn't wait until now and save thousands.
