There is a guy called Paul David Adler who is advertising a teaching position at Pannasastra International School (PSIS). The ad is on the Foreign English Teachers of Cambodia Facebook group.
Is he the same Paul David Adler who was alleged to have been running an ESL job placement scam in Thailand back in 2004?
It allegedly involved asking for payments to be transferred to a Bangkok Bank account in the name of Paul David Adler in return for assistance with placement in non-existent ESL jobs?
Applicants also complained that they had to send original documents which were never returned, or only returned for a 2,000 baht fee.
The details are here:

Or is it just a weird coincidence that two guys involved in ESL recruitment in Southeast Asia have the same name?
Or was he perhaps the victim of identity theft himself?
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Hi guys!
Long story short, a friend of mine have been beaten and robbed ($250) in Sihanoukville by Geno Munkholm, whose passport was kindly provided in this topic on page 13.
Could you please tell, if anything can been done about that? My friend is afraid to do anything and I'm not really an expert in Cambodian matters.
Many thanks.

If your friend is too afraid to do anything at all then I would guess nothing will be done. That's generally how things work in the world, not just Cambodia. He could, of course, summon up the courage to make a police report - especially if he has witnesses and/or visible injuries. It seems Inkface was a visa overstayer and if he still is he can get scooped up for that.
Or, your friend can find some real stones and exact retribution using a length of 3x2 or a nice piece of bamboo. I'd probably go for option number one first.

How stupid does a career criminal have to be to get their face inked?

It works very well as a controlling mechanism, Once you have proved yourself by hanging tough for whatever murderous cartel you get to put a big noisy number on your head. It means they own you. Personally I'm not a big fan of facial tattoos.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
This guy isn't hanging out with cartels. Even cartel members with face tats are idiots. A face tat is the best way to be identified while committing a crime.
Sven Kristoffersen? Come on. If I was going to make up a Scandinavian sounding fake name for a hotel check-in I would automatically chose the name Sven Kristoffersen.gavinmac wrote:

you dont actually have to let guys like this into your home. just knowing where you live and how long you plan to stay is often enough.
thats why i always get dropped off at the corner on the rare occassions i have to take a tuk tuk or even a taxi.

I always wear a reversible shirt too with the inside being a different colour. I can duck around the corner and swap my shirt and put on a hat then double back and stroll back past them without them noticing.
You need pretty sharp spy craft here.
I do that but also bought a Groucho Marx disguise on Amazon and had it shipped in by DHL. Works a treat.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Yeah, me too.Metal1982 wrote:you dont actually have to let guys like this into your home. just knowing where you live and how long you plan to stay is often enough.
