Xavier approached me a little under an hour ago on a street between the market and 123 in TTP. He hailed me over and told me that he was from Belgium and had just today lost his big bag from Sihanoukville, touching his forehead in despair. The way he licked his lips when he looked down at my keys (in the ignition) creeped me out then I realized I had seen his picture on this forum.
I said "Oh, I know you from Cambodian Scammers."
"What?"
"You are all over the internet as a fraudster. Good luck."

I see him about once a fortnight, walking feverishly anywhere between 172 and 155. Each time he looks a little more gaunt and his eyes a little more shifty.ElGauchoInsufrible wrote:Xavier approached me a little under an hour ago on a street between the market and 123 in TTP. Mon Dieu, Xavier, a Gramsci reader. Cambodia's Genet-in-waiting, with your poetry and philosophy, I understand now that your petty theft is a really a conceptual expose on the hegemonic ideologies that mask the 'real' nature of crime and repression in capitalist society. Lay down your works, Villon, and your attempted trespass on this bleeding heart will be forgiven!
Until then:
Until then:

Hey all - an FYI on this thread, Xavier Tant followed us to our apartment blocks in Toul Kork last night after first approaching us in the street. He said he'd had his moto, wallet and $200 stolen, and that he'd been walking around TK asking for help from other expats. He said his consulate hadn't been able to help him. We got suspicious when our Khmer friends told us he spoke good Khmer. Our suspicions were confirmed when we Googled him.
The Belgian consul is fully aware of that scammer. He was repatriated to Belgium once with their help over a year ago. He's now persona non grata in those circles.

That account is closed. But he's on the FB group: "Expats and locals living in Phnom Penh". He's famous! I'm sure Khmer440 would be elevated by a celebrity of his stature.John.Sweden wrote:He shared a K440 story on Facebook last Saturday.ElGauchoInsufrible wrote:I said "Oh, I know you from Cambodian Scammers."

Xavier Tant is back in the news, causing trouble in Sihanoukville:

Also shamed on Facebook here:
It seems he is running the "My wallet was stolen" scam on Khmers and hotel owners and using the name Verraes David Xavier.
