Yes, Corrected - Dashwood in the KT.
...and yes, the Motodop saga was superb and definitely deserves to be in his highlight reel.

How are people this stupid? The editor of a newspaper lifting words, not just once but several times, and not from some obscure written report, but from sources online that can be found simply by googling some of the words. And then there is the wanted murderer in the other thread, on the lam, facing possible life in prison in a 3rd world country, and yet he maintains a facebook page telling people where he is?!? Huh? The idiocy is breathtaking. Did Mohan imagine nobody would ever look, or does he not understand how Google works, or that lifting other people's words was somehow okay, or what? And the murderer...did he think Facebook privacy settings would protect him or that he could tell dozens of people and nobody would squeal or is social media just so addictive that one is willing to risk life in prison to be able to post dinner snaps and beach selfies? It's just all so beyond stupid.
Where is Bernie? I hope he's still alive and able to see how a rival publisher is being destroyed on an expat forum.
For all the shadenfreude I'm deriving from T. Mohan being exposed, I feel for the editorial staff who were trying very hard to do a good job.

Maybe T. Mohan's name should be added to the thread title as there are bound to be a few people working at KT with a bit more integrity to their work.Joon wrote:Where is Bernie? I hope he's still alive and able to see how a rival publisher is being destroyed on an expat forum.

Bernie is still alive. His daughter Deborah is day to day deputy publisher of the Cambodia Daily, and her husband is the business's General Manager.

I agree. He's the serial plagiarist, the title suggests that it's rampant throughout the editorial ranks.kansaicanuck wrote:

From yesterday's edition
Of the Khmer Times? Since Jim Brooke left for the Ukraine last month, Mohan has decided not to replace him, at least yet. Terry Friel has been made acting chief editor and he runs the editorial show with Vince "I never look at Khmer440" MacIsaac, both of whom were under Brooke but seemed to do the bulk of the work regardless.gavinmac wrote:Who is the editorial staff? They've recently hired a couple of relatively senior Khmer journalists from Phnom Penh Post, and Mohan has told Khmer Times staff that Khmer journalists is the way of the future for them. Only a cynic would suggest that is because they are cheaper.

Are you looking in the right place? Khmer Times Facebook page? Lower left hand column? I can still see it but that means nothing. I do see that it has had a number of likes though, so clearly some people saw it.

Wanted murderer? You should reread the thread title. He may look like one, but even GM is saying not proven last time I read the thread.LTO wrote:How are people this stupid? back on topic.
I think sunshine may just have a good view on things at the KT
Unless GM can rake up anything on the others working there.Postby sunnshine » Wed Dec 16, 2015 9:45 am
Mohan is a complete pork chop and his writing is atrocious.
However I think the other KT staff (many of whom are real journalists) also agree with that sentiment and begrudgingly include Mohan's rants because he is the owner of the paper and pays them month to month.
Does anyone remember the story of Mohan's earlier newspaper?
- Starts newspaper
- To report on fake terrorist group
- Uses terrorist group to extort money from Nagaworld Casino
- Gets caught and arrested, leaves the country
- Comes back and starts new paper
It's just too Cambodia!!
