This. Our young brother in law was being a major fuck up, following the footsteps of his dickhead criminal cousin for years. We tried so many different things for years to keep him out of trouble and he just kept going back to the bad life. I said from the beginning he's probably going to have to either be a monk or join the Army. Finally he got into the army and he's been living and training in the sticks up in Preah Vihear for the last year or two. Other than a few bonehead moves he's done pretty well.Playboy wrote:Try sending him to a military academy boarding school for a couple of years, worked well with one of mine. While there, sign him up for a bunch of the extra classes teaching vocational skills - carpentry, plumbing, car mechanics, etc. As well as the ones for English and computer skills.
He will be up and on a 10Km run at 06AM before breakfast, learn how to do push-ups and stand straight and march - all before he gets his rice and pork and then hit the classrooms
I was a little worried about him learning how to field strip a rifle and how to shoot accurately, but they only seemed to do that once in a blue moon - Probably when they could afford some ammo ...
All for just a few hundred bucks a month !!
There is one just off NH1 about 20-30Km away from Phnom Penh
Wtf was the druggy nephew doing?

Does the military academy boarding school force people to stay there? We could all chip in to have Ann Snow re-educated.

I'm thinking it's a bit too late for this one, might as well write him off as I'm sure there are plenty of other nieces and nephews about.
The military academy thing certainly seems like a good route for a 16 year old miscreant. As Alexandra asked, do they force them to stay?

They take them at 14 at Military Academy here, up to 18 ours did 2 full years, we let him come out about 3 years ago (now 19) and so far is behaving and actually holds down a job
And yes, you are not allowed to leave the grounds - they are surrounded by high fences and have actual military guarding the entrance and doing the training

This sounds like an option worth considering for my young buck,
Where is the Academy located or is there more that one in Cambodia ?
Also, is there something like this available for girls ?
NB: Both my youngsters are very well behaved at this stage as the Aunts and Uncles keep them line.
But I do fear the boy will be a problem in the next 10-14 months as he has been overly pampered by his Aunts, Uncles, Grandmother and others and has an overly inflated opinion of himself, where as the daughter could do with a bit of confidence building and belief in her own abilities.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

The only one that I know of is the one I mentioned above, just off NH1, but there might be more around the country.
Not aware of any counterpart institutions for girls though.

I would tell him - just say no, before putting him in the military.
It worked in the eighties.

The bright light in this tunnel is that the f-ing morons burn the rocks in the plastic caps etc.
Imagine how bad for you the smoked plastic is. Their kids with the meth-head hookers will have inside out genitalia at least. Not to mention cancers etc.
