How old are those kids? If 14 year old Sonsan showed up at my workplace as a carpenter or 10 year old Srey Mei as a cook, I think I'd probably still be calling somebody to report illegal child labor. And is the solution for a underage prostitute working the street of Phnom Penh really sewing classes and factory work?
On Twitter, SunriseCambodia's CEO, Lucy Perry, says "It's not exploitative. It tells the horror of the situation with faces of paid models."
In response to Khmer440, SunriseCambodia argued "No money wasted on model agencies @khmer440 we used in-house resources: stock photos, staff and family."
So did they pay the staff and family and the stock photos? And then how much did they get paid for their underage children to be portrayed as "sex worker, trafficked and homeless"?

Excess funds are used for projects in Cambodia - what are 'excess funds'?

How can someone with bright red dyed hair become a CEO? Oh don’t worry its only an orphanage in Cambodia and not a multi million dollar enterprise or anything.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

i just dont get it, the war has been over for decades,
She started in the 90's
DO these organizations just go out and find kids that are poor as surely they cant be orphans
She started in the 90's
why are there STILL so many ( NEW) orphans ( or great grandchildren now)Sunrise Cambodia began in the early 1990s when a South Australian fifty-year old named Geraldine Cox took in a group of orphans she found fending for themselves near the Thai border. These were some of the orphaned grandchildren from Pol Pot’s murderous regime.

"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
"@CathyAshton @sunrisecambodia @wmyeoh sure is! Facts. Get em straight. Paid models and tweaked stories. Oh so right and effective."
"@CathyAshton No shit! There is one. Our little friend @wmyeoh who screenshot the visuals failed to include the full picture."
Why does Lucy Terry feel the need to behave like an angry teenager on Twitter? It's not many CEOs you see saying "no shit" and making sarcastic remarks. Very unprofessional. I understand that she feels attacked when being questioned about this but I am not so sure her tone of response is going to help her case.
If she feels something is missing from the screenshot, can't she just politely post another one and be nice about it? She does after all represent this organization, humbleness is a good thing.
Bless

Did you sue their asses ? I would have and asking for big bucks too.Petrol Head wrote:One of the major anti-trafficking NGOs used an image of my cute as a button niece in their virtual and hard copy propaganda. She was neither:
A) trafficked
B) 'at risk' - I've got the damn school fee receipts to prove it!
To this day I don't know where they jagged the photo from - probably a mate's Facebook. Definitely didn't get permission from the illiterate mother, or us the financial guardians.
Makes you think - when you trade on looks for dollars, who's trafficking who?
