Who is or was the most famous.....
Could always just go to Google and search largest Facebook audience Cambodia based pages. Look for the pages run by a resident expat near the top of the list. Doesn't make him famous as such but he has access to a a very large Cambodian audience.

i'd throw Jackie chan into the mix...recognisable by most Cambodians...Lucky Lucan wrote:Past visitors, Charlie Chaplin wins by a long shot. Sure, Haile Selassie, Charles de Gaulle, Nicolae Ceaușescu and Jackie Kennedy came by, but that mostly just politics. Charlie Chaplin is remembered most, whatever about his dubious reputation
He's been in his room 35 years...time to let him out!

I taught victor everything he knowsFelgerkarb wrote:I would agree with LTO's list overall, but personally I vote for Victor Chow. The old days of Eagle Force and hanging out in the Manhattan club are days I will not soon forget. Had great laughs still even when I visited him in Prey Sar...him carrying that myna bird around in a cage like the birdman of Alcatraz.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Famous are the ones that are known out there, questionable long term expats does not come to mind here.
That would be infamous.

Bretton Sciaroni, perhaps, although I wouldn't use the word 'famous' I get the impression most people know who he is.
