That's quite an amazing story. The fact that he actually has money and just does this as a kind of pastime or social experiment when he gets to Bangkok. WTF?Colebozbourne wrote:
I'm somewhat familiar with this guy covered in powder. He actually has money and a passport, but lives on the street by choice. He's from Europe, and in the five months I've been here he's flown home and returned three times. When he arrives here in clean clothes he looks like a normal, clean tourist, then he strips down to a pair of shorts and lives on the street with a group of street people on Soi 4. The girl behind him in the photo is his girlfriend. She's a full time homeless/street person and doesn't travel with him. She cleans-up fairly nicely as well when she wants to.
He has a bar/shop owner friend that he leaves his money and passport with so nobody steals it off him since he spends most of his time drunk and passed out on the sidewalk, cuddled up to his girlfriend. He stays a few weeks and then flies back home. I call him Captain Underpants after I saw him wandering Soi 4 in nothing but his underwear one night.
He's definitely at least one taco short of a combination plate. I've seen him drawing the full body tattoos on himself with a marker. He also tore a magazine into random, ragged little pieces and wet each piece with beer or gutter water and then stuck them all over his body like a picture collage. He was very meticulous about the placement of them all over his legs, chest, arms, back and bald head. He adjusted them carefully after inspecting them in the reflection of the 7-11 window.
A few weeks sleeping rough on the sidewalks of Soi-4 with no bath they often coat themselves with powder to combat the itchie-scratchies. I probably would too. The only time I've heard him talk was when he screamed like a maniac at a homeless midget-girl and sent her running and crying down the street. He always has money for beer and cigarettes. I don't know how someone like that makes it through security and immigration at the airport so often. It's food for thought though, imagine the money he saves on hotel rooms.
Great post, hope to hear more of these bizarre stories.
