You're saying you borrowed money from people at 100% per month interest and paid 100% per month interest payments to all of them without ever paying the principal? Why?
You were employed when you filed all your bankruptcy cases. You weren't planning to pay people back when employed or trying to pay it back when employed. You specially told the court that Prak Phan wasn't expecting to be paid back his $25,000.
You have acknowledged that the house in Cambodia is yours and that you plan to live there when you return to Cambodia. You're not a philanthropist and didn't borrow money from other Cambodians at 100% monthly interest to buy a house in Cambodia for a poor family.
You're a tax evader and perpetual deadbeat. Which is fine, half the expats in Cambodia are deadbeats. I've known about your background for a while and wasn't going to mention it here until I saw you blathering on and on this week in the first three pages of this thread about how unfair the US tax system is, and how financially irresponsible America and Americans are, and about how "most people come to the USA to make money and run." At that point, I thought a discussion of your personal financial history would be illuminating to our readers.

This is truly autistic and very unattractive.

Jesus Christ, it seems whatever Gavinmac has caught is catching, unless of course you're being sarcastic. But in any event very poor taste.Gin&Tonic wrote:These posts only serve to warn the next people the OP approaches to borrow money.
What a parasite. You can take the Khmer out of Cambodia but you can't take the Cambodia out of the Khmer.

That's fantastic Gavinmac that you do background research on new posters and bring out the relevant information when you deem it necessary to do so. Have you a list of the expats in Cambodia that YOU deem to be deadbeats....when can we expect that to be released? You have wrote many articles on bargirls and non bargirls here in PP and printed them for all to read. Perhaps someone should interview the bargirls, and run all their stories about you for our judgment on your abilities.gavinmac wrote:You're saying you borrowed money from people at 100% per month interest and paid 100% per month interest payments to all of them without ever paying the principal? So let me get this straight...lots of posters complain about Khmer people mooching, stealing, taking money, and then when someone who is Khmer is being accused of doing the same thing, you all rush to his defence because he's an interesting poster? I don't understand the double standard here.

Nobody here is the wronged party (as I understand) and as such do not have the full story. It's just being scraped together from nuggets online and from what he has divulged.AE86 wrote:So let me get this straight...lots of posters complain about Khmer people mooching, stealing, taking money, and then when someone who is Khmer is being accused of doing the same thing, you all rush to his defence because he's an interesting poster? I just find it incredibly weird that a new poster arrives and Gav immediately gets on the case to dig up dirt on him to hold in reserve for sometime when he may step out of line. Then he gives the mods grief for the lack of new posters on the site.
The guy has admitted a history of mental illness - the level of attack on him is OTT. IMHO.
Anyhow I wasn't intending to defend the poster, just challenge GM.
That makes sense.
I haven't dug very far so I'm not passing judgment on anyone. I also wasn't here when the poster signed up, so I know little about him. It just seemed strange to me that so many people have complained about behaviors of locals in this country, and then seem to protect him when gavinmac went after him.

Would they all be short stories?Chris K wrote:Perhaps someone should interview the bargirls, and run all their stories about you for our judgment on your abilities.
ירי ילדים והפצצת אזרחים דורש אומץ, כמו גם הטרדה מינית של עובדי ההוראה.

If he were a white expat earning $80,000 - $120,000 a year while evading taxes and stiffing his landlords and borrowing tens of thousands of dollars from Cambodians and not paying it back, the peanut gallery would be in an uproar. But because he's Cambodian some think he's an "interesting poster" and should be given a free pass on such things.AE86 wrote:So let me get this straight...lots of posters complain about Khmer people mooching, stealing, taking money, and then when someone who is Khmer is being accused of doing the same thing, you all rush to his defence because he's an interesting poster? Well, it was his own claim in the bankruptcy case that he had borrowed $25,000, $16,000, $4,000, $2,000, and $2,000 from people with Cambodian names and also owed $3,000 to a landlord with a Cambodian name, despite earning a lucrative income.
That's a fair point. I didn't intend to dig up dirt on him, he posted under his real first name with a photo of himself as his avatar and mentioned that he had written an essay about his life published in a book called "Children of the Killing Fields." I was interested in that book, and I googled the name and excerpts are available online including his essay published under his full name.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I just find it incredibly weird that a new poster arrives and Gav immediately gets on the case to dig up dirt on him to hold in reserve for sometime when he may step out of line. Then at some point I googled his name because I got a vibe that he was a nutter. That led to the bankruptcy stuff, which I wasn't all that interested in, until reading his rants this week about Americans being materialistic and financially irresponsible.
I don't think mental illness is a good excuse for bilking people out of money. If his victims are Cambodian-Americans of near the same age, they probably had similar life experiences to his.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:The guy has admitted a history of mental illness - the level of attack on him is OTT. 'I didn't intend to...' sounds like a pregnant teen's excuse to her parents. It just kinda happened?
There is no good excuse for bilking people out of money. There is an excuse for going easy on a stranger with a history of mental illness. Perhaps actions taken when mentally unstable should not be held over someone for ever. Not suggesting give a free pass - but you are an awful dickhead at times. And even stranger, you seem to wear that label like a badge of honour.
