Is he still around, albeit settled down with a wife , 3 kids, 2 pigs and a pigeon, watching the Voice Cambodia ?
Did he ever get to finish the book ?

No idea, I only met him a few times. He left Cambodia a long time ago, maybe 2004? Last I heard he was running a school in Brazil.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Shame he had some wicked thread titles, one that made me laugh was
"Lord Playboy" and the Global Panty Sniffing Club.
Don't make them like that anymore!

I read his exploits, and those of others, when I found this site at the end of '03 or the beginning of '04.
It was enough for me, I've been going to Cambodia since '05.

Cambodia had much more interesting expats back then.
The quality of the ones we have been getting over the past few years is terrible, no character and seem to only worry about where to buy gluten free organic knitted musili or reusable nipple pads for nursing little Tarquin.
Once they have finished their one, or two, year stint, it is then a continuous barrage of FaceBook sales of half used jam jars and 95% new woven furniture and tailor-made sofas.

Also they seem to think the half used jam jars are worth the same money they overpaid for them two years ago!
