Fuck I was about to write that.

A bit judgmental. Nothing good can come of making friends with many people. Are tuk tuk drivers really so much worse?

In short, YES!

How many pimps or drug dealers should I trust? Undercover cops? People that get a commission for taking you to a guest house/hotel whatever?

Okay, maybe not all tuk tuks are off duty cops, but you get the idea.

yep, never never trust a tuk tuk driver.
many times i taken tuk tuks around the place to look at different boats or business and most are looking at a way to cut them selfs into part of the deal,
i will change tuk tuk drivers now often if i am deal hunting as the more they know the worst they get.they think they are entitled to a commission just cause i use them
to go and see a seller LOL:(

That whole story sounds very speculative and frankly a little far-fetched. There must be more than just these speculations. I thought the owner of the Moonlight Resort is Belgian and it actually is on Samloem, and isn't SeaCambodia part-owned by a French guy? Why would the judge throw the guy in jail, if awarding the property to the tuk-tuk driver was enough to earn a bribe, if that's what happened? To my knowledge there are 3 ferry boat companies in town so why single out the one with only one boat? Of course, GVC stole the show when he started his service.

I can only agree with LaudJohn. I have been running businesses in Cambodia for well over 10 years, invested quite a bit of money, and done business here a lot longer. No problems so far.

I would argue that a male barang trusting a female bar girl is the equivalent of a female barang trusting a tuk tuk driver. It worked for Lady Tara for awhile. I know other female barangs who have happily bonked the male tuk tuk driver.

Ya'all are prejudiced and somehow think you ....and your lady friend.... are special

Isn't that the chick who started an NGO and got married to some driver in less than 2 months of meeting him? How long did it work, until she ran out of dough?

I think it was something to do with phones that were their downfall. I think it may have been about a year. Not sure if they married or not. Maybe she will post and remind us.

I know a tuk tuk driver that had a regular western girlfriend for a couple of years. .....plus a few on the side.

Nobody claimed that prostitutes are more trustworthy than tuk tuk drivers. But now that you bring it up, it is actually an interesting comparison!

Yes Violet is spot on, I guess there are a few posters who fell in love with local female bike, married them and now divorced, but hey it's only a business proposition.

Haha, recently a very large, middle aged white woman wearing jasmine pants moved into an apartment next door to mine, within a couple of days she had hooked up with one of the local Tuk-tuk drivers...he no longer has to sleep in a hammock strung up in the back of his tuk-tuk, and he's been bragging to all his mates that she's going to take him to the dentist to buy him a new set of teeth...only in Cambodia
