Exnet scams
Exnet scams
It didn't take long for taxi drivers to ruin an otherwise great service. Is there a taxi union group? Suddenly every single driver is pulling similar stunts out of the blue. Here's what I've had lately:
1. Driver calls to ask where I am. "Naga", I say. Later calls back to verify where that is. For no other reason than to scam me decides he has picked me up 500 meters before even getting to Naga, messing up the meter. When we reach the destination he insists that 10,300 KHR is $3. I give him $2 and tell him to fuck off.
2. Driver calls to let me know he has arrived. It's only when I arrive at my destination and try to give him a rating that I notice my order has been cancelled because I didn't turn up.
3. Driver accepts order and asks where I am. Having had the two previous experiences I'm pretty pissed now, tell him to look at the map and hang up. Driver calls me again and says he has arrived and asks me to cancel my order and offers to drive me for $2 anyway. I tell him this particular drive is nornally $1.5, he offers it for $1.5 and I accept.
Nobody has functioning aircons anymore and I'm being hassled about where I'm going and for how much. I think I'll go back to tuktuks until they sort themselves out.

2 days ago, an older Toyota Highlander stopped in front of me, saying: "yes Uber sir.."
I just stopped a tuk tuk and he now was blaming me that I ordered an Uber but that I cancelled.. This is absolutely nonsense I have never tried any uber like service in cambodia..
I said a few times it is not me.. but he kept accusing me! I jumped in the the Tuk Tuk and left.

I use one tuktuk driver; have done so for 4 years. I have his number, call or text when I need him, he tells me how long til he can be here. If he's unavailable, I don't go. Period. I pay him well, and he helps me find the places and things I want. You might consider it - stress free, plus he's a good driver, doesn't drink on the job. It took some looking to find a good one.

What I don't like when they are unavailable is when they send someone else...fear of losing a regular customer to another, I know...but it annoys me.

Got to love desperates who $1 means life or death.

If I'm paying tuktuk prices for tuktuk level service I may as well skip waiting and hail any tuktuk. The purpose of these apps is to comfortably avoid that. Did you ever use it or similar? They use GPS and display the price on the screen.bigphatt wrote:Got to love desperates who $1 means life or death.

You ask a tuktuk how much they want from Wat Phnom to Naga and they'll say $3-$4. The driver is sweaty and rude and thinks he's your best friend. You hail an Exnet, or similar, cab instead and it takes you there for $2-$3. The fare is much more comfortable by cab because the prices are consistent plus the benefits of being in a car over a cart strapped to a moped, and the driver shuts up and drives. He doesn't stop 5 times in the middle of the road to ask "you stop here?" because he has a map to look at with a voice that says "TURN LEFT".
Since the beginning of Pchum Ben the cars have started to suck. That's what I'm talking about. I couldn't care less about 50 cents or a dollar, I'm talking about the pain of being screwed over and having my service downgraded. Worst of all they ask me where I'm going.

I have had dozens of rides with Exnet with very few problems. If you email Exnet, they are very good at responding. Much easier than reporting problems to Uber.

The spouse & I were in Snooky recently for the first time in over 5 years - and beheld the pickup-converts
working as tuk-tuks.
Do they charge passengers the same as tuk-tuks do - bearing in mind the far higher cost (to buy or have converted
as a custom job in a workshop somewhere) compared to a tuk-tuk - $1,000 plus bike -?-

And yet the star attraction of two out of three stories is how you screwed your drivers out of 50 cents?Alexandra wrote:I couldn't care less about 50 cents or a dollar, I'm talking about the pain of being screwed over

I wonder if a Khmer forum has a thread somewhere where a couple of $1.50 a trip drivers are also "talking about the pain of being screwed over"???
What a bunch of moronic replies. Alexandra was talking about an app that promised convenience and mostly a hassle free ride and failed to deliver a couple times.
The price is just the cherry on top, not the main issue dumb replies like the last one wrongly emphasize.

Watch it mate. Annoy my Alex and you annoy me.Friar wrote:And yet the star attraction of two out of three stories is how you screwed your drivers out of 50 cents?Alexandra wrote:I couldn't care less about 50 cents or a dollar, I'm talking about the pain of being screwed over

If anybody is screwing my Alexandra over, under, sideways or down, it's me, right.
