Can American "legal advisor" Keith McCarter get you Cambodian citizenship, work permit, teaching job, and apartment?
I am interested in the $0.25 whiskey bit.

LOL, this kind of reminded me when I went to pick up a friend at the Poipet border a month back. His bus was running late so I decided to check out the casino right next to the Khmer immigration office, a Thai lady on the roulette table bet on every possible numbers except for the zero. And the ball hit the zero, she was cursing in Thai "chip hai chip hai" for a good 30 seconds.gavinmac wrote:Here is a probably incomplete list of opportunities and services advertised by Keith McCarter on Facebook and on various websites:

I thought that a lawyer could be someone with a legal degree, and an attorney was someone that was licensed (such as passing the bar). It seems American English doesn't draw the distinctions as closely, but there is a debate about it. As no foreign lawyer can be a licensed attorney in Cambodia anyways, and they are all "legal advisers", what's your opinion on this in general. Clearly, McCarter seems shady, and could just say "I have a legal degree but foreigners cannot "practice" law here, but instead he says "come to my office to discuss" which sounds like what a doctor would tell you when your blood work has come back positive.gavinmac wrote:Is he a lawyer, or is he not a licensed lawyer, anywhere?PSD_Kiwi wrote:
No, his legal services are 100% legit, Please report back on your experience.
Because in this ad he calls himself a lawyer, but I can find no reference to him ever being a licensed lawyer anywhere, and when he's asked online "are you a lawyer," he responds "come to my office to discuss" or words to that effect.

:shudder:Thank you for coming in Mr. Miguelito. I'm sorry to say that you have contracted "The Scoffer Strain." You haven't recently been to South East Asia, have you?
