HERE'S MY CLAIM EMAIL LETTER TO THEM:
I am writing to submit a claim for reimbursement for $***, the cost of an AirAsia ticket for two persons posted to my Citi MasterCard on November 9 for a flight on the night November 11th from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Bangkok, Thailand.
Attached are the following documents:
The record of the subject Citibank MasterCard AirAsia transaction in the amount of $***;
The AirAsia booking confirmation showing a departure time from Phnom Penh, Cambodia airport of 10:30 p.m. on Saturday November 11th;
The police report made by me on November 13th reporting a bag having been snatched from the open part of the taxi in which I was traveling to the airport for my November 11th flight.
The items in the bag that was snatched included my laptop computer, several small electronics and the documents required for my flight. My companion and I were therefore unable to make the flight.
AirAsia, an economy discount carrier, does not provide any refunds or credits for missed flights.
I made the police report in person at the police station for the district in which the bag was snatched from the taxi. A Cambodian friend accompanied me to translate my oral statement for the police officer in charge from English to Khmer. That officer prepared the handwritten Khmer language police report document attached. Per the requirements of Cambodian law I verified the truth of my statements by placing my fingerprint on the document.
I promptly contacted Citibank to stop and cancel my card. A new card has been issued, Mastercard ***.
Please process my claim and credit the claim proceeds to my new card.
Should any further information be required please contact me by email or at the cell number appearing with my billing address below.
Thank you for your assistance.

Was the pc valuable or had valuable info in it?
If they snatched around royal hospital I have a good idea of 2 places around the area which sometimes sell electronics which seem stolen.

The laptop, an old Dell, was worth between $80 and $160 if bought on Kampuchea Krom, I think. Yeah the info was the important thing along w. a backup USB drive and some printed out hard copy.
You just fucked up your future claims opportunity for $160 dollars.
Congrats.
Congrats.
If only you had got the rego, the cops would have been knocking on their door within minutes. CBA has free travel insurance on Mastercards, the excess is $300 though.
It's worth it for unlimited health cover and evacuation though.
