Huh. Was a while back, so must have wires crossed. Must have been another catalogue. Either way, I wasn't talking to a restaurant directly, but the folk who ran the delivery service.gavinmac wrote:You called D2D? Simply refused to take them as separate orders over the phone during a single phone call, so hung up and never bothered with them again.
D2D is like the the yellow pages. It lists restaurants and their phone numbers.
If you called the number listed in D2D for Angkor India and told them you also wanted to order a sandwich from Buffalo Sister, that's bound to create some confusion.

Did that once because I wanted pizza from Oskar. Still had to call and place the order thoughslavedog wrote:Why not avoid all the messing around and just send the house-boy?Miguelito wrote:It can be very frustrating to call restaurants directly at times, but that always leads to the best results for me. I had endless problems with MT.
1. The biggest issue, they call me back and say, "bong, we no longer have the dish you order". Of course, after I waited an hour
2. Excessive lateness
3. Never having the correct order or change
4. Completely forgetting my order
5. Not communicating with the restaurant creating many of the issues you see above
Better contacting the restaurant if they offer delivery

Whines that things are not like they were in NY.
Go home, or at least walk/ride to the restaurant yourself,

Yeah, we all came here for a three hour wait for dinner.
Livin the dream.
I’ll keep using MT. it’s part of the Cambodian charm. Sure I might get hungry, but that’s a small price to pay for this rich cultural experience.

I moved here to experience 3 hour waits for dinner. Oddly, some Khmer people waiting with me also seemed displeased and they have never even been to NY.
I have even witnessed Khmers annoyed at waitresses screwing up orders, don't they know they are from Cambodia?
It's like moving to the 3rd world and trying to have a wine club. All you end up with is TEFLers, boxed wine and punch-ups at the Caltex instead.

I used Nham 24, I was shocked at how quickly the food arrived.rogerrabbit wrote:In my experience Nham24 is the best. I have few similar experiences from MealTemple. Never going to use it again.GMJS-440 wrote:I’ve only used it a few times for food delivery, deleting them out of browser history now.
Placed online delivery an hour ago, as it didn’t arrive I gave a call to make sure no problem finding our location.
MT “Oh sorry sir very busy”
“Ok, so when is it arriving?”
MT “Sorry, not process yet”
“Ok, so when is it arriving?”
MT “1 or 2 hours more”
I wonder how many people are left hanging for a meal that’ll arrive 3 hours after ordering? You don’t call and tell people what’s going on?
Is the YourPhnomPenh the same terrible service?
Props given, will be used again.

Go home, you got posted here because you drew the short straw and the really qualified guys got sent to Tahiti.
Just make the best of it, perhaps you could ask the frustrated Khmers if you could sautee their books for them?
It's a fact innit? Why not get the Khmers to organise dinner?son of vladimir wrote:Hit a nerve, did I?GMJS-440 wrote:I moved here to experience 3 hour waits for dinner. Oddly, some Khmer people waiting with me also seemed displeased and they have never even been to NY.

I have to agree with GMJS here, as I am sure many Cambodians would too. Just because we are in a developing country doesn't mean that everything service related has to be shite. The only way to properly develop is to hold people accountable. They made an App, a business, and should be held accountable to provide the service that they're charging for. Simple as that.GMJS-440 wrote:I moved here to experience 3 hour waits for dinner. Oddly, some Khmer people waiting with me also seemed displeased and they have never even been to NY.
