Thinking too much
I have a Cambodian friend who has been suffering with regular headaches over the past few weeks. We urged him to go to a doctor and he has just been and come back with medicine.
On enquiringly what the problem was he has been told that:
‘You are thinking too much’
Now I know this guy, there is no way he is thinking any more than the average guy. He has been prescribed a form of antidepressants and been told to stop thinking. Even he finds this funny.
What the heck could this mean?
Do they mean he is stressed?
This is a carefree, fun, healthy, single guy with no financial concerns. He’s certainly not doing sudokus between his naps. He would be the least likely person I know to be stressed.

If your friend has an aircond at home or work, get him to check the filter pads under the front panel. If not cleaned regularly they can become quite toxic and cause headaches and respiratory problems. No Khmer has ever cleaned them.

Good timing regarding this topic.I went to a clinic a few days ago to get lumps on my skin check out, I was expecting a blood test but nah the old doc just looked around checked my pulse (wtf?) and feels the lumps with his fingers then prescribed me a powder and 3 different of kind tablets on the package 1 was made in India, another from Pakistan and the other was from the Philippines all manufactured by different pharma companies (wtf man?). He had a ready made print out template in French from his Windows 7 desktop circled my symptoms and squabbled some shit on paper, it has to be the ugliest French handwritting I have ever seen from people in the medical profession. Scared and worried I brought the paper over to my Belgian friend to translate he said it is some thing to do with Hemorrhoid and internal digestive system (triple WTF ) whereas he said I got a skin disease. I asked several of the SR natives whether it is common for Khmer doctors in medical profession using French as a primary language with patients and they said its all over. Is it the same in PP? Anyway, I am gonna make an appointment with a British doctor to get to the bottom of this shit.
If your friend is over 40 it might also be his eyes. He just might be in need of glasses.

For now. I wonder what the Chinese word for 'thinking too much' is.Miguelito wrote:

Your friend's syndrome happens to a lot of Khmer dudes. The remedy, take him to a luxurious KTV order a box of Tiger and have him sing the take me to your heart take me to your soul, my heart will go on...while at the same time have a chick of his pick sitting on his lap. I know a very good KTV near Rock club, plenty of sexy chicks. I am glad to tag a long and take care of cockblockers.

I've heard this many times over the years. It sounds funny when you take it literally, but perhaps it means fretting/ worrying too much rather than remaining calm?
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Thinking too much means he should worry less...ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I have a Cambodian friend who has been suffering with regular headaches over the past few weeks. We urged him to go to a doctor and he has just been and come back with medicine.

Checking for new glasses a good idea but FFS stay away from anti-depressants. That will fuck him up properly.
