Da phuq is this weather?
Da phuq is this weather?
I've been in this country a few years and can't remember such an early(or late) wet season. Yesterday I went to Koh Kong in the pissing rain, it's currently belting it down (if it's not in PP, then it'll be there shortly).
looking at this https://www.accuweather.com/en/kh/phnom ... lite/49785 there seems to be another front coming in after.
Phnom Penh flooding in February? Crazy days....

Not raining in Phnom Penh yet, but it is very overcast, to say the least. Yesterday was crazy humid after the rain stopped, and we have received a lot of rain over the past week.
It's not only Cambodia, but everywhere -- classic weather patterns no longer hold as true, and it's more evident now that before that global climate change is a reality. Makes planning vacations more of a challenge, to say the least.

Yeah, yesterday morning PP had heavy rain for a couple of hours in the morning.
Today the rain has just started. Although it isn’t heavy, just grey and miserable (Like a summers day in Ireland).
I blame global warming, or Brexit, or Harvey Weinstein, or crooked Hilary.

Down in the former Paradise sur Mer, it is the same. Last year it rained off and on all dry season, so there was no dry season, this year looks like it will be the same.
Also very cool most of the time.
The same thing happened in about 2005 from Memory.

Note to self: Must be nice to morons.

No, this isn't mango showers, this is like proper full on monsoon and has been on and off since Christmas day
Mango showers, or ‘mango rains’, is a colloquial term to describe the occurrence of pre-monsoon rainfall. Sometimes these rains are referred to generically as ‘April rains’ or ‘Summer showers’. They are notable across much of South and Southeast Asia, including India,[1] and Cambodia.[2] In southern Asia, these rains greatly influence human activities because the control the rains have on crops that are culturally significant like mangoes and coffee.[3]

Mango rains are usually in March/April I thought, not Jan/Feb.
Sure we have this same discussion every year

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Well last Jan Pedros did start a similar thread, January Monsoon, WTF, but in his defense those were serious rains the first week of last year.PSD_Kiwi wrote:Mango rains are usually in March/April I thought, not Jan/Feb.

Back in 2011, the first rain appears to have been March 22nd: Mango Rains
