Have been informed that it is going to be a hotel and convenience store. The hotel part seems to have stalled a little recently, perhaps they were waiting on the leases to end on the shop before combining the buildings. It is a very big plot nowLucky Lucan wrote:It's not a big hole in the ground anymore, I was by there today and this is what it looks like:Jessb52 wrote:All good this side! Not sure about the separating from local part. There are a number of Khmer families live at the end of Bassac lane. It’s a really weird mix when you see the local kids wandering through and dancing to the music and then bra-less Granny, boobs swinging calling the kids home as the music blares out from the bars.tombraider wrote:pedros wrote:I don't like Jesus botherers at all, nor fat white chicks and have never stepped foot inside jars of clay until today. Is there anywhere you've heard so much about, without ever going to, and when you finally do all is either confirmed as truth or revealed as plain bullshit?
oh, and if that was alexandra sharing lunch with the 2 footballers, I should have said hello, but didn't want to interrupt that bbw/bbc sandwich that was about to go down.
Bassac Lane lived down to its reputation as a soulless place full of White Hipsters segregating themselves from the locals, drinking overpriced drinks in bars full of reclaimed wood as if parts of Shoreditch had been transported to PP.

I wonder if they will helpfully build a sort of laundry chute into it to help them slide the dead overdose victims bodies down to the bottom easier.

Yes you are correct you do see the families there. What I meant is (in the three times I've ever been) it was devoid of any Khmers actually drinking/eating there, only there to serve. It felt very exclusively western hipster and gentrified. The only interactions with Khmers I saw was either ordering a drink or one Angelina Jolie wannabe dancing with a small khmer child.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Not sure about the separating from local part.
