Things you don't see/hear so much anymore
What happened to eight?
The wild turkey man was a fixture.
I often think of the day the billboards on Chroy Changvar fell down
Playboy when he had a car and driver and still whinged
Has Charlie Harper's really gone?
I miss the dusty, unpaved streets
I miss the tiny villa on 57 with a garden and lots of birds, now a Japanese restaurant
I miss that old building on 108 with the exposed rafters that became a stationery shop
I miss Mikado with the connecting door to the short time hotel, now a restaurant
I don't really miss Walkabou or Sharky or the GSM
Was it Mikado on the same street as Le Cyrcee?
Has Le Cyrcee survived?

Dead bodies lying in the street!
"Those that have been here long enough will remember how most people lived in Cambodia 8 + years ago.
PP city was a dark one at night. Riverside, a stretch of mud. Dead bodies lying in the streets at night were not so uncommon. Shoot outs in the city center."

Charlie Harpers is still here, barely.
The landlord wants to sell/rent but the tenant has a pretty cast iron lease. So it’s a battle of wills at the moment.
It’ll certainly outlast all the rest, Pub Street, The Square etc.
The only other one standing is G’Day mate.
Like two sentinels guarding the entrance and protectors or 75c drinkers everywhere. Vive la révolution!

If Otres beach go's it'll be more like game over mate.
They'll be saying - do you remember when the place had like public beaches and stuff?
I've heard Rabbit island is nice though??

There’s still beautiful beaches in SHV. Everyone is obsessed with Ocheteal beach. Sokha has always been nicer and less busy. Hun Sen Beach is equally nice as is the far end of Ocheteal.
Otres beaches are still unspoilt. You just have to walk through construction to get there!
There’s also a few other beaches that I’m not telling you about.

The dusty streets had a lot more character. A devil in the wet season though. The driver had to wash the mud off the Merc every day.

It's a bitch when the kid's playroom floods, right?crazyjohn wrote:The dusty streets had a lot more character. A devil in the wet season though. The driver had to wash the mud off the Merc every day.
ירי ילדים והפצצת אזרחים דורש אומץ, כמו גם הטרדה מינית של עובדי ההוראה.
