Just putting this out there as some might find it useful:
Sokha ferry schedule
Is it a general ferry service or just for guests (People with personal wine chillers) staying at Sokha?

Everyone can use it. I think the fee is same as on the other ferries that cross the river.YaTingPom wrote:Is it a general ferry service or just for guests (People with personal wine chillers) staying at Sokha?

But just look at the ferry schedule. Not exactly user friendly or frequent.
I was going to use it three weeks ago and when I got to the "wharf" - which is nothing more that a rough bow ramp hard - I found I had a two hour wait until the next service.
Good luck to those that may wish to use it.

Anyone can use it. Free if you tell them you’re going to/staying at the Sokha. I think they said 3000 riel for a car, but I just said I was coming from the Sokha and it was free.YaTingPom wrote:Is it a general ferry service or just for guests (People with personal wine chillers) staying at Sokha?
Exactly why I posted the schedule, which operates with German efficiency to time.Ot Mean Loi wrote:But just look at the ferry schedule. Not exactly user friendly or frequent.

If that is true, it is impressive. Perhaps the only thing in the country?Miguelito wrote:

From my experience whenever I’ve taken it, it has been exactly on schedule. I’m sure every now and then it’s a minute late, but I’ve been impressed.Nasty Canasta wrote:If that is true, it is impressive. Perhaps the only thing in the country?Miguelito wrote:

Great to see they are giving themselves a good three hour lunch break.

Life is difficult ATM for people living in Chroy Chung Var. Last Friday morning the traffic on the bridge itself was totally chaotic, all the traffic coming into town along the river on the PP side was being diverted to the roundabout beside the French Embassy so that that was at an absolute standstill and, with perfect timing, some idiot had decided that some roadworks were due so that the road on the CCV side towards Sokha Hotel was closed off. Almost an hour from the end of Monivong to Sokha Hotel.
