Thanks for posting that, it’s interesting info. Let’s hope that sale goes better than the CD’s to his daughter...fotojourn wrote:According to generally accurate Peter Olszewski The Post is being sold to a Malaysian consortium

This seems very convenient. The court deadline to pay Chris Dawe is 24th April. Will the 23rd print say “IT’S A SETUP”?
Are you in Cambodia? The Post is not alone in extending its new year until Monday. Officially the last day of the new year was on the 17th but many schools and workers have taken the additional 3 days off.fotojourn wrote:Sounds very odd to me. Perhaps they need a new calendar.
I don’t know any other newspaper which has stopped printing. I don’t think the Post has ever gone digital only.
According to an article in the Post, its “printing facility on Veng Sreng Boulevard” ... “could be seized and sold off in the event of nonpayment”. Obviously they own it.
To me it is clear. They’re stopping print for financial reasons. I look forward to reading the self loathing publications of its final days. Will they go full Krisher-Steele?
“No Mr. Taxman, I swear, I didn’t understand the Khmer letter I signed! It’s a conspiracy!”

I think he was just referencing the strange timing, as less news happens over the real KNY than this weekend, and staff would have wanted to return home last weekend.Alexandra wrote:Are you in Cambodia? I seem to recall them take a few days off in the past.

Nah, it's all business as usual. Ignore the rumors.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
The Post ran an article saying they were due to pay $260,000 to a former CEO and how angry men showed up in the office demanding payment yesterday at latest.Lucky Lucan wrote:Nah, it's all business as usual. Ignore the rumors.
Are you saying they paid and are now moving on?
Then that’s $260,000 gone. How much profit do you think they made 2017?
What about the tax audit, that Mr. Marcus Holmes admitted is happening?
According to a Twitter user who claims to be senior Post staff the Post has been sold and Bill Clough is trying to kill the paper. The same Twitter user leaked sensitive documents to AEC essentially silencing Marcus Holmes in public.
The user claims the paper will change hands on 30th April.

This @iolBaudelaire/@gavinyuck character sounds a bit unhinged. Are they actually a senior post staffer?
