Yes, I know some have been here since blah blah but the scale and speed of change is unprecedented, probably anywhere.
I was in Thailand in the early 90s. So what. Never going back (Koh Samui) because I want to keep those hazy memories.
There’s a new “Pub Street” opening up in SHV, just down from Build Bright University, in O’bie area towards the Don Bosco area. Martini (beach) and Stumble Inn (plaza/pub street) are moving there I believe. Looks like it’ll be ready within a few months.
i grew up next to a leech infested swamp/lake and had the best times as a kid,building raffs and pontoons,now the whole area is shopping centres and housing development,i agree never go back its too sad sometimes to see the changes.
The great thing about the Tonle Sap lake is nature has made it very difficult to develop,with the constant changing of the water levels,lack of roads,its mainly floating villages and boats only:)
