I was wondering why anyone would buy this metal that weighs somewhere around that of a chicken, and seems to hold few advantages other than blocking annoying calls from your misses when you are out with your mates. You can buy a phone blocker for about $60 anyway that probably works better than this. Now I'm starting to understand its magic, so thanks for your post, I was a bit lost there for a minute.Apparently this material looks like a dark and "very cold" metal with some very unique properties which are quite unbelievable; such as being very heavy and dense when weighted on a scale yet floating in water as well as other oddities such as it makes your mobile phone signal go away if you put it too close to your phone and it hurts or is very unpleasant to your hand when holding it.
one my khmer clients is being scammed and i cant convince him to stop the deal

I have no idea what this even means. How does a foreigner ensure the smoothness of a Cambodian buying something from another Cambodian?jackrossi wrote: asked me to to ensure that the money transaction (which is being sold at 20% above gold value for 1.3kg of the stuff) goes smoothly

I just did a quick Google and it appears to be regular bronze, but what makes it special is that it's come from Angkorian artifacts. សំរិទ្ធ (bronze) is a common Khmer name, so it obviously holds some cultural significance.
Who's to say it's a bad price? Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, if this particular bronze is scarce for some reason (such as being sourced from looted artifacts), and there is a market (i.e. your client) then it obviously is worth that.
I'm sure there are many cultures that look at the price that Western art changes hands for and think that's a "scam".

Just tell him in the western world it's not worth anything. If he still wants to buy it, let him do it.
