I heard this through informal conversations. It doesnt bother me much. Just want to verify this fact.
That's the job of the USA.

I heard that Chinese prisoners were used as manual labourers on construction projects in Cambo.
Don’t know whether to believe it or not, but it came from a very credible source and they insisted it was true.

Actually that sounds plausible.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I heard that Chinese prisoners were used as manual labourers on construction projects in Cambo.

No it’s bollocks.
It was first mentioned in Bayon Pearnik and since has been quoted as fact by various people.
The Chinese that are here do a pretty good job of acting like criminals already.

It may well be bollocks but the person who told me is well connected to the Chinese community and has worked in the embassy.YaTingPom wrote:No it’s bollocks.

They weren’t the regular Khmer gossip-monger.
It’s not like they have a lack of non crims willing to work!
It just doesn’t make sense.
There’s already cheap(er) labor here and how many experienced plumbers, Electrcians and the like just happen to be locked up and out for release?
Nonsense.
I suggest you kick your informed friend in the goolies.

What do unrefined and uneducated Australians have to do with convict foreigners working in a foreign land then mate?YaTingPom wrote:Because they’re mostly uneducated bogans.
Oh shit wait!?
Hmmm..
Anyway, if there are criminals flooding in to the KOW i reckon the real ones are likely wayyyy up the food chain. The latest thing in the SHV building boom is steel pillars for building instead of using concrete. They just can't get them up fast enough.
I see even one side of the small market has been taken then. (Bought some mussels in there the other night)
G'day mate RIP ?
Does anyone remember the good ole days pre....

LOL the bogans. When I studied at University of Otago, the so called "research department" spent over 1,000,000 NZD on their studies on bogans....it was so stupid, but its from the government grant...all the researched were focused in a foreign country like in the outbacks of Australia. WTF! Were they genuine about it, the research students and their professors should of focus shits on their door steps like invercargill or Kaorora. Plethora of info their neck of the wood.
But anyway man....this government is a lapdop. I think there a new limited version of Farrari. Their nephews better keep, and the iPhones.
