Regarding unpaid work permits law
Jackrossi, it might be worth checking with Lucky as the back payments seem to have reduced somewhat recently - I got a new work permit and cleared many years of back payment for about 650 bucks.

He's probably technically wrong, but it'd be good to have someone with back wp issues verify his claim on a next Saigon bus trip rather than dismissing it outright.
I don't know why I'm bothering to write anything, I usually just avoid opening threads that he posts in, but if we're talking his claim:logos wrote:He's probably technically wrong, but it'd be good to have someone with back wp issues verify his claim on a next Saigon bus trip rather than dismissing it outright.
And not the diarrhoea of the rest of his posts that I can't bring myself to try to translate to sanity, then his claim is wrong.batshitcrazyweirdo wrote:If you exit and enter, even with the same passport, it will wipe off all back fees for a work permit.
I can think of 3 people off the top of my head, each with 3-7 years of stay, broken by periods of 1 to 3 months outside the country that required new VOA when they came back in. When it came time to sort out WP - for some 3 years ago, but one this past April (and after receiving their latest VOA in February) their entire history of stay in the current passport was used to calculate the fines.
Why would they look at years of previous visa extensions and forgoe the chance to apply penalties and extract cash because of a fresh VOA?
They wouldn't, and since they reintroduced WP enforcement in 2013/14, the entire length of stay since the first E Type visa in the passport is what they look at.
I paid about the same for a cleanse. I think they charged me $100 per year as “penalty”.slavedog wrote:Jackrossi, it might be worth checking with Lucky as the back payments seem to have reduced somewhat recently - I got a new work permit and cleared many years of back payment for about 650 bucks.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Cleanse?? Are you talking about work permits or a colonic irrigation?Alexandra wrote:I paid about the same for a cleanse. "I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
Why would they look at your passport at all? You submit copies of your VOA and current visa to apply for the permit. Why would they look at years of previous visa extensions and forgoe the chance to apply penalties and extract cash because of a fresh VOA?

My last boss was something of a compulsive liar, and as far back as 2015 had assured me my years of back paid wp feed were covered.
It was all bullshit on fatboys part, so when I got a new job, I also got a new passport, with no entry stamp, and my wp was sorted within weeks with no fees levied.
