I think that is the case. If you are just renewing, they assume there is no change of address, so no need of documents.clutchcargo wrote:Maybe you need that if you are applying for a new khmer licence rather than renew.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a tivoli?
newnewnewbie wrote:Really impressive, great job on the interior design.. the tivoli is awfully expensive, but there is good Japanese grub in the downstairs food court. Not enough roads leading to there, and ride was congested this Sunday, but all in all a memorable experience, living here, but I live near the first one and will be going there for pizza and ice cream with the kids. Cheers.

Decathlon shop opened today.
For anyone who does sport this place is fantastic - it’s basically a sporting goods supermarket. No longer will I have to tour around town checking various shops for a specific sporting item.
IMO prices seem to equivalent to back home - though in $ rather than £ (which makes it around 25% cheaper).
I’m delighted with the place.

They have a good selection of shoes - for hiking and for various sports but I didn’t check for sizes.pedros wrote:ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Decathlon shop opened today.

The soft opening had bottomless champagne, like a good French company would. Smart first location to open at... and they have expansion plans, for sure.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Decathlon shop opened today.

Yes, the French, many have the Napoleon complex, but they won the Dakar rally last three years with their Peugeots, and make decent wine and cheese, so can't rule them totally out.

Went to Aeon 2. Liked the Imax and got my Krispy Kreme fix. As per Aeon 1, high end stores were empty. Big Market was ok and lots of good bread for sale. Domino's pizza sucked. Like the idea of going there to renew my drivers license. Better building design than Aeon 1. Went to the big Makro store near Aeon 2 and the Makro store really sucked! Not worth a visit. Bought a T-bone steak there and when I cooked it I might as well have eaten the sole of my shoe. Much better Makro's in Thailand.
Decathlon is fantastic. Mostly own-brands, and some stuff is overpriced but the majority is quite cheap, for a mall shop.
If you wear socks, and have a foot larger than size 9, the range of socks they have there is incredible. I usually get a care package with 12 months worth of socks delivered every time family and friends visit, but won't need that anymore. Probably 40 different styles of sports socks across the store, but more importantly, most are available in sizes up to euro 50.

I've heard rumors that drivers licenses could be renewed there even for barangs.
Anyone know if that is true ?
Yes. Perfectly true.
My friend from western Sydney on a tourist visa very recently, only four weeks ago, renewed his existing Cambodian Driving licence there, no questions about residential address or other documents required and tells me that not only can you renew existing licences there but that there is also a dedicated foreigners desk. Whole process, including being photographed, took between 10 to 15 minutes maximum and cost him $10 for a one year validity - maximum they will grant without you sitting the Cambodian driving tests - licence.
I was supposed to renew my expired licence there last week but ran out of time to do so as Aeon Mall 2 is so far from where I usually stay but I've since learned that public bus number 2 runs a service between Aeon Mall 1 and Aeon Mall 2 and vice versa which, for a fare of KHR1,500. sound best option for me. Can anyone confirm this?
