So what are you bitches are up to?
I don’t really understand your point. We (assuming you do too) live in a lawless third world country where life is cheap, or at the least not held in the same high regard as most western countries, and there’s some pretty horrific murders.
If you don’t like it then go home. We all know about what goes on. We can all read the stories if we chose too.
You don’t need to post every incident.

I wonder how many Lonely Planet wielding tourists/back packers are showing up looking for things listed in the guide, and thinking "what the hell??"YaTingPom wrote:Charlies shut a month ago.spitthedog wrote:Are Charlie Harpers and Khins Shack the last two barang bars standing in Chinoukville then?
I wonder what they will do about the congestion on the main market road if things carry on as they are over the next few years?
Do you mean the road in front of the market? There’s an article in KT saying the police were there seizing cars parked illegally. If you mean Mittapheap Street then it won’t improve until the road is resurfaced.

Are they still printing Lonely Planet guides? They were the first thing to buy when travelling somewhere new back in the day but surely completely redundant now.Miguelito wrote:I wonder how many Lonely Planet wielding tourists/back packers are showing up looking for things listed in the guide, and thinking "what the hell??"YaTingPom wrote:Charlies shut a month ago.spitthedog wrote:Are Charlie Harpers and Khins Shack the last two barang bars standing in Chinoukville then?

I remember the BBC buying it for something like £150 million ten years ago then offloading it for a fraction of that price 5 years later. One of the worst deals ever.

I feel like it's very rare that I fly into Cambodia and don't see at least one person on the plane with one in their hands, in all different languages (I think I saw someone holding one in Dutch yesterday). I agree, I don't understand buying one and lugging it around nowadays, but people still seem to.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Are they still printing Lonely Planet guides? I think it’s a “cool” (that’s probably not even the ‘in’ word) thing to do nowadays holding a Lonley Planet guide book. Like a hipster throwback to days of yonder.
Did have a group of backpackers (water covers on their backpacks (clear blue sky), 1 lt water bottles lest they die of dehydration walking from the bus station to Charlies, no bras and Arse showing shorts (good job) and glum stressed out faces) asked what the food was like there. I told them it was shut (the owner was sorting out stuff). “Where is Kangeroo Kitchen”, she inquired not looking up from her LP book. “Shut” says I. “Angkor Inn, we drank there before”, “Shut” says I, “Espresso Kampuchea...”, “Shut” says I.
They all looked confused that’s for sure.
“Where can we eat. We’ve been on a long journey and my men and horses need refreshment” (ok, last bit was made up but they did look like they’d all die soon if they didn’t have sustenance.
I pointed to the various food carts and the smaller market.
“Oh no. Lisa and Star are Vegan, Jake is lactose intolerant, Gemma is vegetarian, I have a peanut allergy and Pippa is a lesbian. We just want western food”
They slinked off soon after like a troup of sad snails.
