Interesting take on the individualism there, I'm glad that Cambodia still has some sense of community, even if it means the odd innocent person gets beaten to death by a mob for thievery or sorcery etc.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Especially when them damn northerners be involvedPlayboy wrote:You can not be too vigilant when it comes to that rural sorcery
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
ירי ילדים והפצצת אזרחים דורש אומץ, כמו גם הטרדה מינית של עובדי ההוראה.
serpentza is a South African racist and scumbag who was condignly beaten up by a mob of Chinese for badmouthing China. After this experience, he only posts videos that are critical of China. In Guangzhou,where serpentza lives, there is a problem with local organized crime but a much more serious problem are the hordes of criminal aliens who brings drugs into the country. Guangzhou is not representative of all of China.
Westerners have no right to criticize the Chinese government considering the number of scandals in countries like Germany, France, America, and the UK.
The Chinese government does deserve a bit of criticism for being overly lenient. For example, why do they tolerate a South African paleskin alien when he derives most of his livelihood from badmouthing China?

SerpentzA and C-Milk have traveled through most of China. They love the country and its people. Sure they are critical of things but they are not being unreasonable and explain what the issues are.
Just because there are issues in their home country or other countries, doesn't mean you can't be critical of the place you reside in.
I would highly recommend checking out their AdvChina channel.
AdvChina
6 out of the 10 most recent videos posted to that channel have a negative title. It's understandable to have complaints from time to time but serpentza's job is literally talking crap about China.
Wow, Harold, just wow. Also, a new term for you, Whataboutism, here's a definition.Harold wrote:serpentza is a South African racist and scumbag who was condignly beaten up by a mob of Chinese for badmouthing China. Whataboutism (also known as whataboutery) is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument, which in the United States is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda.
Harold, did you watch the video in question? Agree or disagree?
I think that guy is spot on here.

Agreed with equinix. Come on Harold, you are just talkin' shit... contrarian as usual. SerpentzA and C-Milk have both done a lot of really interesting videos on China. Their ADVChina stuff is great too. I'm not even really interested in China and but I watch their stuff. I find it interesting and fairly balanced for the most part.
I think part of the reason for some of the more negative videos recently has been that they both have recently been out of China and have been able to say, or finally have the balls to say things that they could never do safely in China. (In fact I believe they are both trying to pursue their careers more in the ADV channel style based in the US rather than China now)

I am not being a contrarian. If you read the youtube comments, there are many Chinese people who call out serpentza because his coverage of Chinese issues is always so negative. More than a billion people would agree with me. He doesn't even speak good Mandarin and he is totally illiterate in Chinese. He has claimed to "know more about China than Chinese," a remark that pissed off a number of netizens. At least foreigners like DaShan and French Julian actually put in the hard work of learning the language properly.
I don't know much about serpentza so I can't say much more. Probably the main reason I hate him is because he grumbled and complained about a rural man who hosted him and treated him hospitably only for serpentza to pay him back by showing his house, his family members, and his face in a negative light in one of his videos.
It's absolutely despicable that serpentza would do this to someone who had only good intentions and it shows us what kind of person he really is.

Anyone who has been in Cambodia for more than two weeks is familiar with the term "whataboutism" and the "tu quoque logical fallacy" because Jacques Verges, the defender of Khieu Samphan, famously made a tu quoque defense of Klaus Barbie.Cricket99 wrote:Wow, Harold, just wow. More than a billlion Chinese citizens would agree with you publicly, in dire fear of repercussions from their authoritarian government's Orwellian social score system.Harold wrote:More than a billion people would agree with me.
But given the opportunity, about 999 million of those same billion people would sell their living grandmother's vital organs for a chance at leaving China and permanently relocating their families to Western countries.
