I think you're referring to Angelo's, which was great. The owner was Greek. I heard he passed away a number of years ago, but can't be surePlayboy wrote:Just on a corner near the Golden Lions roundabout ?salvajeuno wrote:I remember an Italian fellow with a small restaurant and wood fired outside oven in Sihanoukville... Olive and Olive is a newbie restaurant, only opened around five years ago. The restaurant to which I believe Meo Den is referring is the Marco Polo. Last time I was in Sihanoukvile it had moved from its location near the roundabout to Echareach Street. Excellent pizzas and very good staff.Jamie_Lambo wrote:Olive and Olivesalvajeuno wrote:Yes... that's the one.Playboy wrote:Just on a corner near the Golden Lions roundabout ?salvajeuno wrote:I remember an Italian fellow with a small restaurant and wood fired outside oven in Sihanoukville... The place Meo Den referred to "was very close to Wat Phnom", not Sihanoukville, and "had to close around 2006". As I previously posted, I am quite sure this was Anthony's Pizza, on the north side of Wat Phnom.slavedog wrote:Olive and Olive is a newbie restaurant, only opened around five years ago. I am pretty sure that it was Anthony's Pizza MD was remembering. Small place, only a shop house front room really, but very good pizzas, and they did a reliable delivery service back when such things were extremely hit and miss.Khmerican wrote:The place Meo Den referred to "was very close to Wat Phnom", not Sihanoukville, and "had to close around 2006". No, I'm quite sure it's Marco Polo. He's just confused about the roundabout....and the city.Playboy wrote:I am pretty sure that it was Anthony's Pizza MD was remembering. I've lived in Phnom Penh for over 22 years and I never traveled outside the city for a pizza The restaurant was on the NE side of Wat Phnom. It had an outside area to sit. Had a good selection of wine , a wood oven and did Italian style thin crust pizza. My main restaurant for dinner at the time was l'Atmosphere which opened in 1995, just in time to serve me good French food, Medoc and Armagnachttps://web.facebook.com/atmosphere1995/?_rdc=1&_rdr

I remember that pizza place. I used to ride up there once a week after finishing evening classes at the "Air conditioned brain mine" as KIR used to call it. It was never busy but did do a good pizza. Wasn't there also a bar along there with a name that was just a question mark?
