It was very close to Wat Phnom. Had good pizzas and great wine, but unfortunately it had to close around 2006 along with other "non cultural"
establishments.
Reported in PPP April 2006
Bar and restaurant owners on the north side of Wat Phnom are up in arms about the Municipality's decision to order them to close within one year "in order to keep safety, order and beauty of Wat Phnom," according to the March 23 announcement signed by Chhay Tirith, Chief of Srah Chork Commune.
Anyone remember it?
I remember
an Italian fellow with a small restaurant and wood fired outside oven in Sihanoukville... Fantastic pizza. I think it was in 2010?
Just on a corner near the Golden Lions roundabout ?
Yes... that's the one.
Olive and Olive
think its fallen victim to the chinese too
Olive and Olive is a newbie restaurant, only opened around five years ago.
The restaurant to which I believe Meo Den is referring is the Marco Polo. Last time I was in Sihanoukvile it had moved from its location near the roundabout to Echareach Street. Excellent pizzas and very good staff.
The place Meo Den referred to "was very close to Wat Phnom", not Sihanoukville, and "had to close around 2006". As I previously posted, I am quite sure this was Anthony's Pizza, on the north side of Wat Phnom.
It was salvajeuno who then brought up "an Italian fellow with a small restaurant and wood fired outside oven in Sihanoukville" and he thinks "it was around 2010".
